Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
We popped in for a quick meal after a play at NCPA and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Yes, the captain didn't look particularly pleased (maybe because we asked for veg dimsums) but the place itself is spruced up pretty neat. The fried wantons were well and truly crispy and though we enjoyed the crunch, we wouldn't have complained if the quantity of the filling was as proportionate. The American chopsuey was perfect. Filled with peppers, cabbage, sprouts and served on a bed of crispy noodles, it had just the right texture and flavour. Though we recommend you order something... read more
Absolutely useless food and even worse service. The Captain doesn't want to serve you and will come to you as if he is doing you a favour. The waiters treat you as if you have some dreaded disease..... When this was told to the owner, he refused to believe it. Kamling may have had its good days, but those are a part of history!
If you want to spend Rs.2000-3000 (for two) over a worthless meal with pathetic service, Kamling is it. The restaurant boasts of being an authentic and traditional chinese restaurant..which it is definately not. I feel Mainland China has far better food, service and ambience than Kamling. It is not worth spending your money over such pretentious joints, when there are far better options a available.
All its fervor and authentic Chinese cuisine which Kamling boasted in the 70's till the 90's have all vanished. Today, its another so called chinese restaurant with a bakda flavour. Its food is oily and the chefs are not so experienced in chinese food. Basic hakka noodles and fried rice are ordinary. Visit this place for soups. At least that's worth going for.
Well this is one of the few places where you have a variety in Pork dishes, except that it is one highly priced place with not that up-to-the-mark food. Found the place and ambience very quiet and not so appealing, service was OK-OK , not that good. The Menu was good and seemed to have a lot of variety, but very less spicy options. Starters are over priced, and so are the main course items. We ordered Roasted Pork with Onion(Half), one chicken Dish(half) (that was suggested by the waiter, dont remember the name) and a bowl of veg fried rice and chicken sweet corn soup, apart from the pork, the... read more
When you go to a Chinese restaurant, you expect to get some good that has some spice and a little bit of flavor right? Well, some places are terrible. Their definition of Chinese food is like khichidi at a bad roadside dhaba. I ordered the following:
Chicken Spring Rolls Chicken Hot & Sour Soup Chicken Haka Noodles Tofu with Spring Beans & Bamboo Hong Kong Chicken
Apart from the spring rolls, the food was terrible. It wasn't flavorful nor was it justified to be categorized as Chinese. In my noodle dish, there were not any noodles. In addition to that, the chicken... read more
Statutory Warning: Please do not try to tread in this part of China. Its patheticaly bad

We had ordered 2plates(small) of Chicken-mein-Foo(rice noodle) and 1 plate(small) of american chopsuey. Mein-Foo was a "Foo-lish" choice compared to the chopsuey which was atleast eatable. Prawns with garlic gravy was just tolerable. Ambience was good with a nice "Jackie Chan" feeling. Overall speaking its not worth the money u spent.
This Restaurant is run solely by Chinese Management. I saw just 2 Indian Care takers (not waiters* as they didn’t take orders) that just poured water in glasses on each table. I must admit, I was confused if they’re business is dependent on us as customers, or our job dependent on them as waiters. You’ll know my grievances as you read below:
Food Quality: We ordered a pork fried rice and Prawn friend rice; with 2 gravies – Chicken cooked in Hongkong Sauce and Chicken cooked... read more
I went there with my family yesterday & was utterly bitterly disappointed!! To begin with, there was no water in the loo...YUCK. Even the public loos are better & cleaner than this one. We ordered veg & non veg Wanton Noodle Soup. "Ewwwww" was the word to describe it - it smelt funny & was gone off!! However they replaced it (which was sweet of them) with an even more terrible Sweet Corn Soup. The Main Course did no justice either. the only savior was Chicken Fuyong. I recommend a strong "no no" for anybody who wish to go here!!
i went there about few months back...this place has been there for a really long time...they have a really good indianised chinese food...well furnished...and really good service. the usual affair of fried rice,Manchurian, chilly panner n chicken etc.. they were all really well prepared.priced a little on the expensive side..however the quantities are good enough to easily fill 2-3 people well...i like i like...
