I had heard good things about Kareem's and my first experience here sometime back was not that bad. That's why I remembered this place when my wife and I were in a mood to have Kebabs one day.
We walked into the restaurant during the lunch time in a weekend, wondering why the place looked so empty. Didn't take us long to figure out why. We ordered Sheek Kebab, Tandoori Pomfret and a biryani. The rice in the biryani was stale and smelling. Kebab was not juicy and the meat didn't seem to be fresh. WORST RESTAURANT OF THE SUBURB. 2010-07-31
Apart from the ethnic name, nothing seems be good for Kareem's (Malad W).The seats are stained. The food is appallingly BAD.We ordered chicken which was 'powdery' ! Tandoori, that was burnt and loaded with food colour !
With a meal for two costing over a thousand rupees, this is certainly the worst restaurant you would come across.
The delayed service which is legendary is a tact to fool customers into believing that the fare is being carefully prepared.
You should not be surprised if you see many posts about kareem's outlive the restaurant ! -

Sunday Afternoon Disaster 2009-05-12
We were a group of six (four adults and two teenagers) on a Sunday afternoon (10 May 2009).
This is our first time at any of the Kareem's joints. And surely the last.
The sitting place was very odd to accommodate six. The serving guys don't even bother to arrange the plates and glasses properly.
We ordered Mix Non Veg Platter (Rs 519), Prawns Dum Biryani (Rs289), Chicken Makhani, Paneer Makhani, Butter and Garlic Naans. Food is okay but nothing great. We also ordered iced teas and shorba.
For some reason, Mix Non Veg Platter does not contain fish

an overall good xperiance....
food was very good in taste.....quantity had some issue for the quoted price, i.e. was not VFM in my books
definitely not a place for the cool and hip...the place gets jammed by oldies n little devils....so avoid goin to this place if on a date.... -

I had heard of kareems as a very good resteraunt for non veg frenzy ppl and hence took my family out for the same. The food is soemthing that i shd b writing before going to a place however i would liek to tell how much time we were there . We enetered the place at around 2 in the afternoon and left at 5. Sounds ridiculous but i feel almost 2 and half hours were spent by us waiting for the food. Although the food was good (I really like it) my food buds wree dead after somethime jsut waiting . as soon as we realized that the service is slow we started ordering everything in a hurry to make up... read more -

Inconsistent! 2008-11-24
I became a fan of Kareem's since I had Chicken Reshmi at their Powai outlet and was necessarily elated spotting an outlet near my Malad residence. The joy was short-lived though - their biggest flaw being the inconsistency of the dishes.. The same dish tastes and looks different everytime I ordered. Moreover, on every occassion the "Chicken Reshmi" that i ordered was a far cry from what I had at their Powai restaurant.
I did not have the courage to order stuff from their menu which I am not familiar with. -

Never Again 2008-10-12
I visited Kareem’s on October 9th, 2008, (Dusshera) in the evening.
It was early, so we found a table easily.
We ordered a Fish Tikka Ajwaini, a chicken dish, a paneer dish, bhuna gosht, roti and some beverage.
We waited for our food for about 30 minutes before we decided to ask the waiter “how much longer” before our order is served. He scurried into the kitchen and didn’t return for a long time.

AWFUL FOOD & SERVICE 2008-07-02
Had a good experience the first time i went here, but the second time was a disaster, very bad service, food was blant, chicken was not cooked properly....
If you more than 5 ppl, please dont dare to go here, as the waiter will have no idea what you have ordered, let me just coke or a fresh lime....
And the best part is if you have done a booking, dont even think that you will be getting the table as they have no clue abt it...
And last but not the least, please dont forget to check the Bill, as there was stuff which we asked for but we never got it, but yeh it was billed for su -

Not worth it. 2008-06-22
I visited this place with my friends on a Friday evening. The ambience was good. The place was not crowded at all.
We ordered for starters (veg & non-veg ) and the main course (veg & non-veg ) .
The service was not up to the mark. We needed to remind them to get our order. The starters arrived after the main course. The waiter was serving as if he is doing some kind of a formality just for the sake of serving.
The food was quite less in quantity as compared to the price.
Starters + Main Course costed us around Rs 1600.

the first thing you notice about kareem's is its gorgeous interiors and ambience.and for me ambience is one of the most important factors which go on to decide if the restaurant gets a thumbs up or not and kareem's certainly gets two thumbs up !!
the other brownie point is its open kitchen....watch your kebab being made right in front of you !
so onto the food first we ordered for a veg.platter which was really very filling.
