MEAN, PATHETIC OWNER!!!! 2012-04-13
To start off with, the OWNER! He's raw in his words, free to abuse to all the workers right there in front of the customers. He screams and yells and takes out all his frustration on his workers ALL THE TIME! I've never seen that owner smile for once even by mistake.
Im a regular at Koolar's and its fun to watch the owner go all wild on every1.
About the place,
Well its located at King Circle, where you have all south Indian restaurants around. The place itself from inside is dry and boring. REEEEALY BORING!!

Almost called the cops on the owner 2011-10-20
Was there this evening, my third time. The food's not bad at all, especially as a hangover antidote. However had a very disturbing experience this afternoon. The owner was letting off some steam on his staff about some issue, which is perfectly normal, if done subtly, however the owner was letting it rip. Loads of MCs, BCs...and to top it all he called out a cook, and assaulted him. This place is located in King Circle among the heap of Idli Sambhar Restaurants.
The owner is a mad screaming parsi. He owns quiet a few successful restaurants in mumbai. This restaurant how ever is kept to take out the work pressure by screaming and and shouting.
I use to play video games here when i was in school. Serves chai ban amska and heaps of non veg food. Started Hukka in the middle but was shut by the police.
Not a restaurant for the soft spoken gentlemen. It s a place to eat and just LET IT OUT. -

Good food at the cost of getting your head hammered by foul mouth , loud , rude & annoying owner who gives a damn about people visiting his restaurant....
I seriously doubt if this place is worth a visit ...
2 are only for food !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Unhygienic, run by pirate mouth owner 2010-12-26
If you want to get a free dose of a pirate mouthed owner freely abusing employees and other over phone then head over to this place. And on top of it if the employees ignore the owner, the buffoon has a loud bell which rings all over the place and is sure to interrupt your meal and conversations.
On top of it all the utensils you get will not be fully cleaned. So please carry an extra napkin to clean what you can before you eat.
On the plus side, the place has a terrific location, decent old world ambiance and some good stuff like Iranian tea.

Manliest and most hardcore restaurant in Mumbai 2009-10-11
This place keeps it real. The owner is a truly hardcore person and I guarantee you that if you spend more than 20 minutes here you WILL hear him abuse (at least verbally if not physically) the life out of someone & create a scene so loud that has the undivided attention of everyone in the restaurant. The owner himself is highly entertaining, forget Blue frog or the Gemini Circus folks, I go here whenever I can to just watch in sheer amazement the antics of the owner.

Nothing has changed except there has been lot of additions in the menu and yes it was packed in the afternoon around 2 pm unlike when we used to be regulars .........
The same decor just the shifting of some counters.
Been visiting this place since donkeys years (school was stone throw distance)
Dont be suprised if you hear the waiter shouting from near the kitchen and asking you if one needs anything else

petu insan is an omnivorous creature..when he is in matunga sometimes he feels of consuming some meat.but he has no choice..he spots an irani at a corner..petu jumps in with hope and hunger..
he is stunned by the typical irani atmosphere..especially the charles bronson,marilyn monroe and new york times posters amuse him..petu even though not fond of hukka enquires about it and finally orders for irani omlet..which doesnt satisfy his hunger..infact triggers it hard
