Mediocre - Not what it used to be 2009-11-30
All that is good about Kayani these days is the ambience of days gone by. The taste of the product is no longer what it once may have been. The cakes, pattice, biscuits and bread products are mediocre, however prices are relatively low. It is a good place to have a cup of tea along with something light to eat, look around at the vintage furniture and vintage clientele, but do not expect anything very tasty. -

This joint is definitely one of the most indescribable “experience” in Mumbai. I call this place an experience more than a restaurant coz I personally have so many memories associated with it… gluttony ridden, sentimental, awestruck, lazy…
This was the very place which introduced me to the “Parsi bakery” culture…thinking of my 1st visit to the restaurant… with red checkered table cloths, menus to glance through the glass table tops, the skull capped parsi unclejis, the “family only” seating area..i was just transformed into a place built in the past…existing in the past …I love everything... read more -
