  • Soul food Mar 06, 2013

I go here regularly when I'm in need of some soul food. I usually stick to the same menu, but every now and again, I try something different.

What I like: The consistently great food, the generous portions, the ambience
What I dont: The staff who seems lost or like they couldn't really care less. The disappointing dessert selection and the poor choice of wines.

What I think you should try here: The seafood khowsuey (easily serves 2), the beef pho bowl, the som tam (raw papaya salad) and the in spite of my misgivings about the desert line up the raspberry cheese cake.

Could it be the hot location, the popularity quotient from its previous branches, or genuinely good food? We're about to find out.

The restaurant is split into two sections - an outdoor section and an A/c one. The decor, in keeping with the South East Asian theme is impressive with its green walls, comfortable wooden furniture, soft lights and imposing statuettes of Buddha. We choose the indoor section. The table is
