  • Vast Choice-moderate price-good qty-bad service 2012-04-24

Tried Fried Bombay duck....it was tasty!! the Rainbow rice and Red cook chicken had Authentic smoky chinese aroma and taste...coupled with ambience and chic decor.

However, the service is bad and non friendly, their attitude after 10.30pm is just to wrap up as soon as possible....

If you are a Pork lover, like me, then do yourself a favour and head to Ling's immediately. There is an entire page dedicated to the tastiest white meat available.

While I have read some shocking reviews here, I can only attribute it to an off day for Ling's as any restaurant if likely to have.

However, I have been frequenting the joint for close to 10 years now and it remains a stellar option for authentic tasty Chinese food.

So much more to eat at Ling's, never fails to impress.

  • Terrible Service, Okay food 2011-09-30

I had been here a week ago. We ordered 2 soups (the hot and sour one was quite bad, the thom yum was good) and 2 starters- one garlic corn and mushroom (which was quite good) and steamed dimsums (which were not satisfactory). The main course (steamed bamboo rice and buddha's delight) had huge portions and were really good. However, the only thing I remember about this afternoon was the service. We had to ask for a refilling of water, to bring the menu, to get our bill- everything. They were hopelessly inefficient, and while taking our order, condescending at times.

    Despite the food being

  • Ideal for family dining 2011-08-23

Simple delicious food, knowledgeable & helpful server giving suggestions and space as needed, reasonable prices and a 'small town' ambiance...ideal for family dining.

Very good tom yum soup and chef recommended clay pot rice. The Chinese tea went well with the meal (did not miss the alcohol at all)

Has a nice, warm feeling to it maybe because it is patronized by regulars (slightly older family crowd) and the cordial staff seemed to be working here for a while.

This special evening cost 3 people nothing more than Rs. 1000!

  • Never again i say! 2011-08-22

We were here for lunch on 20th August 2011. The food was ok, not bad not exceptional. But i really need tomention the service, whcih was nothing but crap!
Firstly, the orders took 30 minutes to reach the table, which we didn't really mind, as the three of us were having a good conversation. However, once we completed the meal, we still hadn't called for the bill as we were busy talking, the manager ( this fat guy, didn't get his name) actually came to our table and yelled saying, " Why haven't you'll left yet!! Talk outside!". Imagine the audacity of the guy. Not wanting to create a scene

  • Hearty Servings 2011-05-29

If you're looking for reasonably authentic Chinese food in SoBo, Ling's offers the best value for money around. Despite its spacious interior, the place is usually packed to the rafters on Friday and Saturday nights. I've been here many times in recent years -- the steamed dim sum platter and barbeque platter are decent options for starters, and their seafood and pork preparations are outstanding. The bamboo rice is a speciality, as is the Beggar's Chicken. The portions are very generous, far more so than at, say, Mainland China or China Garden. And the food is better, and cheaper, too. Like most... read more
