  • Value for money continental khana! 2009-12-29

We've been to this place twice and were super happy with what we tried each time...This prompted the review!

The restaurant has a decent menu... chinese, indian, italian n some good mini meals!

The best starter we had was the stuffed mushroom with cheese and baked vegetable tart. The latter is a must try if youre bored of the usual garlic breads and bruchettas...

For the main course we've tasted the Veg Thai Curry (Rs.170),chicken thai curry , patsa arabiata and a meal of rice and an awesome white sauce gravy (dont remember the name!)... and these were all superb

  • Great Service, great food. 2009-11-19

The hospitality of the Lisantro staff is obvious from the moment you step in. There's someone at the entrance to greet and welcome you and thank you while you depart with a huge smile on his face :) After your order is served, the waiters are pleased to ask you how the meal is and if there was anything you didn't like. It's great to see the level of enthusiasm for improvement these guys had.

The place was relatively small but it had an indoor as well as an outdoor sitting. The music was soft and subtle and the walls had potraits which gave an anti-racism feel.

  • A cozy place with good food sans a washroom 2009-10-08

The place is situated off Carter road and shares a common wall with Mad Over Donuts (M.O.D.). Its small with 4 tables on the outside and 4 inside (the inner seating is slightly cramped)

The place is good. The review however begins on a negative note simply because I entered the place with my bladder full!

    Here goes:

The place has no loo. You read it right; no place to even wash your hands. This is a big concern when you go with a mindset that ?I?ll go to the washroom and then settle for dinner after all the driving?.

I may stand corrected but I never

  • Calorie Loaded, Cheap & Yum 2009-09-01

Went at 7 on a Sat evening and was surprised to see we were the only ones there. On questioning we were told people tend to drift in later. So till we left there were only two tables occupied, ours and a large group of 8.

Ambience: The place is small but nice with an outdoor and AC section. Since the Ganesh festival is on there was a lot of noise but even otherwise place is a bit loud. Not ideal for a date but great with friends.

Food: It was basically Indianised Italian but unlike most places that do it they do it well at Lisantro. Started with cream of broccoli. Loaded with

  • Italian Ego 2009-08-18

This place doesn't serve alcohol because Italians believe coffee compliments food better than alcohol. And these guys say that on their beverage menu which otherwise is good.

Coming to the food, the menu is small. I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping for more variety atleast in pasta section. The food tastes good and amounts are decent.

I am not going into the mundane details, but probably because of higher expectations there was no wow feeling from the place. We went there expecting a Sunday lunch with wine and continental food. But probably that is what has biased

  • Great food, Value for money 2009-08-12

The first thing that strikes you when you enter Lisantro is its classy decor. Very chic. Despite its tiny size Lisantro doesnt come across as cramped. The menu albiet limited is enough to appeal anybodies palate. Out of all that we ordered the most memorable dish was the sizzler - Napoleans Pride. Excellent. But I think the highlight of the meal had to be the mocktails and floats. Beautiful to look at and amazing to sip on. Now for the drawbacks - the service. Our food was served with the wrong names of the dishes (which quite alarmed us), the waiters are not very well versed with the menu and... read more

  • Loved Lisantro 2009-08-11

I waited a while for a table on Sunday night, but it was totally worth the wait. This place seemed to be was the only one packed on Carter Rd. My friends and I started with garlic bread and lasagna, which was delicious; reminded me of my fave cafe back in Milan. We also ordered for a Thai curry, which was great as well. Hard to find a multi-cuisine restaurant that can pull off two cuisines (or more) well.

  • Nice try, but lot's of work needed 2009-08-03

So I read the Burrp reviews and decided to check out Lisantro this past weekend. The place was curiously empty, but then so were all the other off-Carter Road joints.

    Decor
Very ok. The paint was peeling off some of the damp walls and the black serviettes were... shiny and strange.

    Food
I tried the chicken & corn chowder (ok), chilli cheese toast (ho-hum), prawn pasta (majorly greasy and over generous with the garlic) and the roast chicken (what was all that brown gravy).

    Service
The servers and waitress were all very well mannered, helpful and servi
