  • Phenomenal but expensive 2012-05-15

Mahesh's food remains excellent, especially "crossover" dishes like Crab BPG and tandoori pomfret, but, while it isn't as expensive as Trishna, it is no longer great value. You can get food of the same quality cheaper at Apoorva, and even cheaper at Bharat Excellensea, especially if you are looking for seafood cooked in more traditional styles like gassi or meen pulimunchi...

  • too much (price) for too little (food) 2011-12-19

Ok...they serve authentic Mangalorean/Konkan food but why charge a bomb? In a fish curry you get two thin pieces of pomfret and the price is heavy. A neer dosa costs 15 bucks and you need to eat atleast 5 of them to feel full. Although the food is great but its really not worth spending that much.

  • Mahesh is overrated and overpriced. 2011-10-22

Mahesh Lunch Home was a small khanawali, or a malwani thali joint, back in the early 90s. Their food was authentic Konkani food from Manglorian and Karwar belt, and being one myself i relished its taste. It was popularised by college kids from xaviers and elphinstone, who found food cheap and excellent . I still remember the old times when there was no A/C, and they had the best ghashi and solkadi and that kind old senior waiter whose service was so good that it felt like home.
It wasn't so bad when the upper half was converted to A/C
Cut to late 2000s, when it was converted to full A/c

  • Super sea-food 2011-06-08

I was missing my mom's food, so decided to head here for a treat with my husband and in-laws. Amazing food. I could have rated 5 stars, but I shall hold back the last star for want of space, it was a little too cramped for my liking. The service is EXCELLENT.
