Great Chinese Buffet, Great Ambience, Great Staff 2012-02-13
Love going back to this place over and over again...the closest that anybody gets to REAL CHINESE FOOD (and not the 'Indian Chinese' that we are all familiar with!) is here...a lovely assortment of starters for the nonvegetarian, great desserts...only a word of caution for the vegetarians- be prepared to have lesser than expected dishes on your plate because this place is inclined towards the non-veggies :) -

No longer the same 2011-12-21
Mainland China was always one of the top choice for Chinese Food. However, in last few months there seems to have been a drop in their quality. The worst was during my last visit when I ordered Veg Dumplings for my friend who is a strict vegetarian but they got the Chicken Dumplings which she realised after biting into a piece.
The main course was served cold and the rice came 20 minutes later. On top of that non of the food was tasty like it used to be. I did not even stay to find out what desert was. -

Atlast Mainland! 2011-12-09
I liked the ambiance here. Been twice at Bandra and tried buffet as well as meal, you would definitely like it. Nice service with good music. Plenty to choose from, for Non-vegetarian's in buffet compared to veggie's. But you can always go for variety in your meal menu.
Those who don't like Chinese food should be here once, it will at least create interest in their minds! -

I would admit at the onset that I do not like Chinese food much. So when it was decided to visit Mainland China for a business lunch I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the prospect.
We had table reservations and reached the place in time and while we were parking they even called to check if we would be making it time for our reservation – a bit unnecessary considering it was a weekday afternoon and quite a few tables were empty.

Poor food 2011-11-13
Heard a lot of the place. Very spicy food which spoiled the taste. They won't allow u in after 11:45 which I thought was rare.
Hot n sour soup: too spicy
Mix veg fred rice & some day special main course which wasn't nice as well. The staff said they will replace the food. But we had had enough.
The ambience looks old & shouting renovation.
Two stars just for our polite waiter -

Chinese food, Salary-Day style 2011-09-19
After a lot of hunting for a new place to go on a date, she was very enthusiastic about taking me to Mainland China. Personally, I prefer the Indian-style Chinese food over authentic Chinese any day. I had never been to Mainland China, but was a regular to the 5 Spice outlets in Mumbai. Their menu is huge and have a very consistent taste almost all the time. So what action have you taken after speaking with me, Bhavana? Will the patrons receive a worthy treatment in terms of pricing? I understand I'm just a very very small fish in a sea of people with insanely fat wallets, but yeah, until this thing does not get resolved, you won't have me coming in for sure. And for the rest of the people who are just like me (the regular junta) will also think twice about coughing up around 2000 bucks for a meal for 2.
