Buffets are always a mixed bag, but I like buffet meals simply because you can make whatever you want of it. There is a caveat though; there needs to be enough quality in the variety to make the meal enjoyable, and I think all buffet lovers will agree with me on this.
Of the 4 or 5 times, I have dined at Marigold Residency's in-house restaurant Citrus Court, I have found the spread (consisting of naan, plain or biryani rice, some starters and a few gravies) to be strictly average bar one day when the chef was inspired and the meal was outstanding. Not one or two dishes, but all of it. For 200 bucks a head, and 1 person allowed to eat gratis if you pay for 3 plates, this place is just value for money.
Thus emboldened, I ordered for some chinese and pasta. Now note that my office is housed in the same complex as Marigold Residency, barely 5 minutes walking distance as the crow flies. And so to find that
a) the schezwan noodles magically became rice along the way and
b) the pasta was milky (there's no other way to put it)
left me distraught. The cherry on top? The food was delivered after a whopping 1 and a half hours. Suffice to say it left a sour taste in the month and that I will never order from them again.
That buffet, it's kind of a sweet deal though, so so food aside.
