What I learnt after a weekend lunch at Melting Pot is that you can take Shetty’s out of Udupi (and into fine dining) but you can never take Udupi out of the Shetty’s. Some combination's (shetty’s and fine dining) are just not mean to be. I usually avoid multiple cuisine restaurants but after reading such glowing reviews here I decided to give it a shot.

Despite being a sunday afternoon we got a table immediately but the service was woefully slow which was understandable since the restaurant was packed. After much waving and signaling to get a captain’s attention, we were given two menu

  • One More Time... Apr 29, 2010

This was my second time here..but it just gets better time and again..we were four of us..on a friday afternoon...and started with the regular salads (American Cole Slaw) and the papads...which were absolutely crunchy...not like the other places where they actually give an excuse...We called for 2 vegetables amongst four of us which were not only sufficient on quantity but great on quality... too..just love the paneer there and the paneer masala kofta with those soft cottage balls...just yummy...and then followed by the rice...Now comes the est of the lot the desert tried the single cake tall sunda... read more

  • Great ambience, good food Jan 10, 2010

One does step into Melting Pot with a little nervousness as restaurants which serve all kinds of food usually do not specialize in anything...

Therefore while going through 3 extensive menus (of all the 3 restaurants on different fooors)- we were first a little apprehensive as to what do we order and what would be the speciality...

Thankfully we were helped by the every polite and eager to serve staff who tried to understand the food we liked and recommended accordingly...

We loved the seafood - specially the prawns, rawas in spicy think gravy, steamed pomfret in

  • Great food and ambience! Nov 23, 2009

    Reservation recommended: Yes.
The restaurant seems to be very well-liked and is always full, more so during the daytime as it is very popular with the 'kitty-party' crowd, so making a reservation will ensure that you don't have to wait for a table.

    The Ambience:
The decor, though eclectic, leans towards being predominantly Asian, with, gorgeous, portraits of the Buddha dotting the walls at regular intervals and a statue welcoming you opposite the main door. A mosaic border runs along the tiled floor and a bronze-hued air conditioning duct snakes along the ceiling. A seemingly

  • For a quiet dinner... Nov 20, 2009

Melting pot a multi-cuisine restaurant is located at Juhu Tara Road... Its an amazing place to dine if you are planning to spend some quality time with your loved ones.

The ambiance is pleasing and the decor has a taste of the traditional culture. The service is pretty good and prompt. The continental cuisine has a large variety of Indian Chinese and Coastal. We tried the Chinese and it was quite yummy... Mineral water is not charged, which is quite suprising. There is usually very soft music of no music at all so that your meal is uninterrupted. A meal for to would come upto around 800
