  • Nice foot massage, Novel experience Oct 12, 2012

    Managed to fit this into my day trip to Mumbai with very patient directions from the lady on the phone.

    I took the 1 hour massage (weekdays Rs 350). Nice massage and quite a novel experience - liked the way the team concentrates on the basics and offers foot massage at reasonable rates. Wish them the very best!

    Not a fancy place, does not have massage variety like most spa but great foot massage if you like pressure points. Surely a place that one can go regularly - great value, great service. Just give it a try!

    The location is difficult to find so call and they can guide you how to get there.

    I don't know where i read this statement describing the massages at Metta- i just HAD to quote it here.

    Reflexology is all about pressure points and touch, and who would have a better sense of touch than the visually impaired? All masseurs at Metta are visually challenged

    The massage was simply out of this world. A no-frill place helps keep their charges low and ensures that their staff get maximum share in the revenues. I paid Rs 350 for a 1 hr feet, shoulders, hands and back massage. No fancy oils, just your regular coconut oil for the feet.

    One thing is for sure... i left here relaxed, and felt the warm fuzzy deep down.
    the place is a little difficult to find... but give them a call and they will guide you very patiently...
    Best land mark i can give you is that it is in the small lane besides Janta bar on pali hill. ask any ric driver or local and they will know the bar.
    the masseuses here are visually impaired, but leave no space for regret. they are kind, soft spoken, the place has a very soothing ambience.... i almost felt bad making them work....

    Every spa has luxurious treatments to make you feel all relaxed and de-stressed... So what is so different about metta? Me says, the service.. The fact that it is run by visually impaired people doesn't affect the service. Infact the honesty and warmth makes you glad that you are there! I went there for a foot massage and I can vouch for this place. It is the most amazing spa in the city and extremely economic. They have no intentions of making a hole in your pocket. Their only aim is to give you a pleasant experience and you'll leave the place smiling! :) Can't wait to go back to Metta!

    This place is a really cool place. in terms of their mission of doing charity by enabling certain sections of the society+delivering the best...
    after reading so many reviews visited this place. its located between hawain shack and totos..in one of the dingy lanes of pali village. the receptionist was extremely polite and patient in giving a 'direction handicapped' person like me some really good landmarks.

    I've tried reflexology massages at a couple of spas so i can tell with confidence that the guys at Metta really know their job! As mentioned by some of my fellow burrpers the massages are done by visually impaired persons and if you ask me, that indeed is Metta's USP; Visually impaired people have a very sensitive and advanced sense of touch which translates into a fantastic massage as they work on your pressure points with expertise.
    Although Metta is a simple, no-frills spa the experience is totally worthwhile. Damages? Rs.200 for 30 minutes of blissful reflexology... go for it!

    I’ve been to a couple of spas before but this one was different. Not just because you’ll find visually impaired people giving you the massage, but the aura of the place was just different.
    When you enter, you’ll be soaked in a smell that’s not too nice. The place is simple. There are 3 massage beds only and it’s not the kind of spa you’ve been to before. But there’s something about the place. There’s something about the way you’ll get your massage.
