After 3 unsuccessful attempts to get in (place was full - which always increases the attraction), we finally found a table at this popular place (on a week night). The food is genuine Italian, I must say, so compliments! (Not to be immodest but having spent 7 years in Italy, I should know!) The staff could do with a little more training - simple stuff like "don't suggest food if you don't know what your customer wants" , "pronounce the dishes correctly" - nothing earth shattering but it would add that completeness to an otherwise good dining experience.
Some items on the menu were misspelled - now you can't do that if you wanna be known as a great place.
Coming to the food, the pizza was excellent, so were the pastas - an "Al Dente" option would be nice to offer genuine Italian food lovers (like me!). the daily menu fish was fantastic, and the wine (Nero D'Avola from Reveilo) went with it wonderfully too - again some training to the wait staff on suggesting good wines would add to the experience.
Staff was very courteous and attentive. And the best part was they were ever-watchful to see our reactions to the food - this shows true caring! I think you have some really good, passionate people working for you, please could you invest in them some more?
Well I'm going to stop nit-picking here - and I'm not generous with compliments - a truly good Italian place with little to complain about, and much to admire - other fancy so-called Italian joints (including a few right around the corner from here) could learn a thing or two from Mia Cucina.
PS: I would be happy to provide (free, of course) personal feedback in detail of how this could become a truly great place!
