  • Super Spicy Thai Green Curry 2009-05-30

Considering the dearth of good Thai food places, you tend to get a bit tolerant with whatever you do get. Bearing this in mind, do excuse the slight bias in this review.

Also, this review is somewhat incomplete since we only ordered vegetarian and I was not hosting this dinner so I don't know the pricing/total bill for whatever we had.

We were a group of 10 (including 2 kids - a 5 year old and a baby) that headed over for dinner on a Tuesday night. 4 of us got their considerably earlier than the rest of the group and were holding a table for the entire group for almost an hour. Although they were not really too busy when we got there, the staff was very tolerant and patient. We ordered a couple of rounds of drinks, a soup and some starters while we were waiting. Tom Kah soup was delicious. We also ordered a couple of orders of Steamed veg. Spring rolls (surprisingly there is an option for steamed) and a spicy mixed veggie dish with mushrooms (I cannot recall the name). The mixed veggie dish was particularly good.

The rest of the group had some people that did not eat onions, garlic and mushrooms. The waiters were accommodating and very helpful with suggestions.
For main course we tried the Phad Thai Noodles and Thai Green Curry with rice. The Phad Thai Noodles were quiet good. My favourite was the green curry. I will not necessarily recommend it to everyone because it was suuuppperr spicey but it completely worked for me. :D

It is served in a fairly small clay pot. The serving is barely enough for two people so make sure you order extra curry if you're going to share the dish.
