  • Great food, okayish service

Smallish place, dimly lit, decor is very ok , so dont go expecting fancy decor.

The food though was excellent and satisfying. We had the raw papaya salad, mushroom and ginger rice , and a vegetable dish whose name I forgot. I found all the dishes very good.

The service could use some improvement. Our order took a long time to come, no one came for water refills and I had to tick off one of the waiters to stop putting his fingers in his mouth from the hygiene point of view. It was friendly though.

I would surely visit this place again for the great food.

  • Temple Food at Munchkins Thai Ban

Follow the oft trodden road to Pali Naka and trail the wafts of piquant chillies with a subtle overture of lemon grass to the modest 50-seat restaurant; Munchkins Thai Ban. With a name that conjures up images of the Wizard of Oz and the Orient at the same time, one wonders what’s on the menu.
The small eatery nestled in the heart of Bandra has a very contemporary feel with white walls and wooden accents both inside and out. Established as Thai Ban and soon after acquired by the Munchkins franchise, the establishment has been test running its new menu since February with new additions like the

  • Fine Thai Food

'Thai Ban' deserves its reputation as the best Thai restaurant in the Mumbai Suburbs. Its menu ranges way beyond the standard Thai eatery, offering bold, authentic Thai flavors. If you love Thai food, this is the place to go. My personal favorites here are:

    Starters -
Satay Kai (Chicken satay avec peanut sauce)
Neua Phak Chee (Strips of crispy beef tenderloin avec crushed coriander)

    Main Course -
Chicken Gaeng Phed (Chicken red curry, Thai)
    Khao Prao (Steamed rice)

    Dessert -
Honey Coated Noodles (avec gentle vanilla icecream.. Sinfully Decadent)

  • I beg to differ..

I have been a patron since 5 years now... And each time Thai Ban gets new food, I always try it.
Yes, they got a new menu. Yes, they increased prices.
Go elsewhere if you can't pay Rs 40-50 per dish more.
Or try running a restaurant with about 150 competitors.
But that's not my point. There is a difference between Thai food & Chinese food. Thai Ban gives you that.
As far as desserts are concerned, I agree they have a limited menu as opposed to other similar restaurants.
I have met the owner several times at the restaurant. She's a lovely lady, very open to suggestions so
