A citywide search for a reasonably priced guacamole dish led us from Navi Mumbai to Oven Fresh. Most reviews mention decent food but I was a little sceptical about the service. By the time our meal ended, I found it hard to believe previous reviewers have had issues with the service.
The captain was extremely helpful in case of both, explaining/comparing dishes and suggesting dishes we might like. I was pleasantly surprised when he suggested a lower priced dish over one that cost almost twice as much simply because he thought that was more in line with what we were looking for. Put it down to his honesty, seniority or even grace if you like, to me that's genuine service and an interest in what he does. Glasses were refilled promptly, our dessert was brought to the table owing to a small crowd at the counter outside, patience and smiles were in abundance even during packed lunch hours. For that, I thank Oven Fresh.
The food itself was nothing short of great! Nachos with guacamole, drinks and slices of cheesecake were had. Compliments to the chefs on all counts - variety, flavours, presentation, attention to detail - and to management for ensuring that kind of quality. We were left wishing we had room for more.
A casual enquiry about where the avocados for guacamole were sourced from was actually followed up over the course of the meal! The captain returned to tell us that Citylight market was where we needed to go. I half expected a complimentary jar of guacamole to show up with the bill!
I'm gushing, but it was one of the best meals I've had in a while now. Definitely returning. The staff looked like they'd be happy to see us again. If that's not good service, I don't know what is.
