  • Just so overrated! 2012-02-13

SNOBBISH- is the only word that defines this place-
first, you have to request for some ten different time slots till you get one for a reservation (my friends told me i should not think of going there without one!)
Second, half the items of menu are time bound- we serve this after 7, this before 3 that only for b'fast...blah blah!
third, the portions are way too small for the kind of money they charge..
fourth, the ambience is nothing to die for..much better places in town available at lesser cost and better ambience
Overall a pretty disappointing experience, and not at all

  • HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING. 2012-01-11

My friend & i visited this place just yesterday, firstly there are 5-6 factors as to why the title says HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING but true to it's name Pali VILLAGE Cafe. 1) I had a hard time finding the place, there was no evident sign, hoarding or board to give us directions, i had to ask 10 different people on the road + when i called pali village cafe thrice no one answered. 2) The decor was so cheap. The chair i sat on was TORN & the cheap green cloth was dirty & the walls were blackened by dirt. 3) FOOD-I ordered chicken grill & capers which was for Rs.120 & what i get was a JOKE. 2 MICRO MINI... read more

  • Expensive ... average experience ! 2011-12-27

We decided t go to this place being recommended by a good friend ... more so because we have been to most of the other Italian / Continental restaurants in Bandra / Khar area and wanted a change on Christmas night.

Nice ambience to start with ... loved the informal decor and seating (metal folding chair is a cute touch, but not very practical). Sat upstairs and the staff was very helpful and served with a smile. He got a 'better' folding chair for my 4 yr old who was concerned on not able to eat on her own there...

Started with soup ... excellent cream n mushroom, served with

  • Average experience! High on price 2011-12-14

My first and last dinner at the cafe yesterday. A lot has been said about the food in the reviews below, so i won't repeat it. It's strictly average. We like the rustic ambiance, its interesting. Not all seating is comfortable.

Service is the biggest problem. It's painful and slow. No point making a reservation as they make you wait anyway. Staff is courteous but not trained. They can't take the right order or serve the right food right in time!

    Painful.

  • Talk about a Rip off! 2011-12-09

While the decor is smart (read cheap metal chairs and cheap chor bazaar furniture) it is definitely interesting. The day I visited there was some random "dudes" short film playing over and over again, sans any volume thankfully.

An eclectic place to do people watching if you do manage to get there early. The staff was very quick and courteous. A big pat on the back to them. And the food (whatever little we got of it) did taste pretty decent.

What then is the problem you ask? Well plain and simple - Poor VFM (Value For my hard earned Money)

    The wine list is strictl

  • Love this place! 2011-09-26

Reading the reviews below I think Pali Village Cafe has been misunderstood... it is a charming unpretentious restaurant tapping into the style of parisian cafes. I'm yet to be disappointed by the food. It is a little pricey but fairly average for restaurants in Bandra. This place is an abolute gem - the only one of its kind in Mumbai - a very rustic and chilled out affair. Enjoy!

  • Do you think your customers are fools 2011-09-24

The food in this restaurant is a joke. Pali village chefs are great at making sandwiches and milkshakes and they should stick to that. Pali Village Chef - Gnocchi is NOT balls of mashed potato, you actually need to make a pasta by adding flour and egg. Your Gnocchi with a garlic cream sauce was DISGUSTING. Next the Beef Burger - Diced beef, drowned in cheap bbq sauce with onions, cheese. That is the worst burger I have ever had. It is suitable for a kid who likes his meat drowned in sauce, but come on. How can you serve such a burger. The chef does not know the process of caramalisation... read more

  • Beyond Awful!! 2011-08-08

Pretentious....the run down old world charm just doesn't work.. Flimsy chairs, uncomfortable seating and frankly looks like it needs renovation . It was a crowded Sunday and we found a empty table in the air conditioned section only to be denied since it was "reserved". Then 30 seconds given to another group who seated outdoors (without prior booking). We were seated in the very stuffy fan cooled outdoors. It was a candle lit setting and when I asked the waiter to lit the candle he couldn't because the fans were too fast. We ordered for a Strawberry Margarita only to be told that its not available... read more

  • Over Hyped, Under Cooked 2011-05-21

It was bloody hot inside. We had to return the penne twice cos both the times the pasta was undercooked. Good collection of wines. Food is very very very average. Not at all value for money.
