  • Not Really That Good! May 22, 2013

Firstly the average meal for two people would be nothing less than 5-7K and not 3K as quoted - it is a misleading number.

Food: Dal Bukhara and their breads are a must try. Other stuff you can find at any other restaurant at say 1/4th the price
Service: Not really upto 5 star standards. Only 2 people did all the serving, taking orders, clearing dishes and bills. For everything you had to raise your hand to get their attention.
Ambience: Was strictly okay, nothing to complain but nothing to rave about either. The chairs can definitely have a back rest though.

This is my first 5-star rating in the super-expensive restaurant range. Places that need to provide excellent food and service to justify the price. Peshawari does so...and how!

We went there rather serendipitously. Unplanned. We were a party of 8 or 9 and stuck with starters only. My uncle ordered single malts and I had a few beers. The bill was astronomical, but I'll tell you this -- I'd sell a few of my clothes and a few other things if it would allow me to re-visit Peshawari and eat to my heart's content (and more).

We ordered a reasonable number of chicken, prawn, and mutton

  • Lip smacking experience! Jan 16, 2013

A visit to Peshawari has now become a regular on our dining calendar. The Dal makhani is an absolutely to die for dish. The experience though unique for foreigners (no knives or forks are provided here. Eating by hand is subtly encouraged for an optimum Indian dining experience), is still fun. A bottle of beer or wine, the juicy and perfectly cooked rann kebabs, and finally some roti and dal makhani. Provide all types of beers and wines that go well with the North West cuisine. A very satisfying meal. The staff is well mannered and always making appropriate suggestions whilst ordering. Although... read more

  • fantastic for nw frontier cuisine Nov 10, 2012

the best in the city for north indian..in my opinion..try the lamb chops for the starter..pig out on the raan and who can argue with the kaali dal which is an absolute winner.the atmosphere is casual with bench seating..but its fun....the menu is limited..but packs a mighty punch! worth trying if you like your kebabs!
Expect to pay over 4 k for a meal for 2 sans alcohol.

  • Superb in almost all aspects Sep 04, 2012

The service was par excellent, that's the word. I had visited on the occasion of a friends bday party n we were welcomed and escorted to our table. We had ordered Paneer Tikka, Lamb seekh Kebab, Dal Bukhara, Paneer Makhani and Chicken Makhani however we cancelled the last dish on waiters suggestion dat it wud amount to too much. Paneer Tikka was superb, tender and marinated to perfection, roasted to the exact crispness in the coating. The lamb seekh Kebab was tender but lacked juiciness to sum extent. There was an amount of drieness owing to less fat used in the mixture. Dal Bukhara, needless to... read more

  • Decent May 22, 2012

Peshawari being a speciality restaurant , we had really high expectations , though the service was excellent , the food was very average, the kebabs were good , succulent, tender, melt in d mouth types, which we thoroughly enjoyed, the main course was a disaster and the desserts very average, we were very pleased with the service and its not a bad place to visit once in a while.

  • Kebabs and more! Apr 01, 2012

I went to this place to eat kebabs and dal bukhara and i must say i came back stuffed!!
The seekh kebabs were real mutton not daal and suya nuggets mixed with mutton. And the daal... i can keep eating that one till i burst! and the lamb chops were soft and succulent and midly spiced. Lapped it all up with a naan... awesome.
Even the deserts were awesome especially the phirni.
    Its totally worth it.

  • Great food...way too expensive!! Feb 17, 2012

You start feeling comfortable as soon as you enter..Very good service..They try to make u comfortable with the most minute things..
We tried the famed burrah kebab for starters , was great but qty was not much, for main course we had the out of the world dal bukhara along with pudina paratha which was really amazing and murgh makhani which was good but like what you would get anywhere else..
All non veg starters and main course gravys are priced at arnd 2000 with rotis at 225. They even charge u 200 bucks for a bottle of water So plan your meal accordingly...
    However all said, its

  • Overhyped & not worth the money Dec 13, 2011

This was our first visit to Peshawari and we found the food decent, but totally not worth the price. We had Paneer Tikka which was just okay and totally not worth 1750 bucks. I have tasted much better versions of it at other places. We had Dal Bukhara, Tandoori chicken with diff types of Naans. Naans were good, but overall food came with zero spice level which was quite disappointing .I won't rate this food as delicious or tasty.
Drinks and kulfi were good, but again totally not worth the huge bill we got :(
