So i know the defintion of a place marked with three inr symbols meaning expensive but thats not the problem I had with Punjab Grill Juhu.
Nor was the problem with the servers who were completely lost and tardy yet some efficient and polite managers who i give credit for to make the dining experience not so miserable.
Nor was my problem with the oversized water glasses in ratio to the size of the table – if about 20% of the dining table is covered by the water glasses – kudos to the person responsible for the call
My problem was with the pricing - not inclined to say that everything on the menu was expensive. I think much of the food we ate was value for money considering the ambiance ..the quality..etc…but my math went for a toss when I saw the last item on the tab….
Some green soup – 175 (good taste..good price)
Veg seekh kabab – 325 (good stuff again…huge quantity…enough for 5)
Mix Veg Handi – 325 (v v good – worth the money – again huge portion enough for 5)
Dal makhani – 370 (didn’t like the taste – way too bland and ‘makhani’)
Biryani – 425 (v different and rich)
4 breads – total 235 (more than enough for 5 adults)
2 masala papads – 300! (No, the masala papads didn’t have an avocado dip alongside nor was it imported from some country….they were just the 2 normal ‘lijat’ papads roasted and tossed upon some tomatoes and onions in one portion)!
So there you are – other than that last item that made me resolve to always always check the menu prices for masala papads before ordering them – I quite enjoyed the dining experience.
Sure it was a bit loud but considering the Saturday night and the massive dining space….thanks to also the space in between the tables and the courteous managers…the dinner didn’t really suck.
And as for the math goes – 3k for 5. U ask me this Q a year later I wont know…but u ask me a part of this Q 10 yrs later..i may know :) cheers!
