deteriorating in quality and service 2012-03-25
When it began, the food and home delivery service was awesome. BUt now it is so bad, sometimes the food is so uncooked, and also very spicy. You may end up with severe acidity.. take care.. -

Stale Food - Stay Away 2011-12-23
Either this restaurant serves stale food or it is very unhygienic. In two separate instances we have fallen sick with their home delivery food. The first time it was hard to pinpoint their food as the cause, but the second (and last) time was a few days ago where we were out with REALLY bad food poisoning for a couple of days, unable to attend work and just generally being really weak and ill. After talking to a few friends in the area I've realised most people avoid this restaurant for the same reasons of quality & hygiene, not to mention their uneconomical prices. I and my wud b wife had went 2 punjab lions on numerous ocaasions.cnt emember the counting...earlier the taste of the food was awesome..but recentlt there is a drastic downfall in the taste and quantity they serve..let us start with the kuukad shorba-the taste keep on changing evertime v have had(when i say changing means getting worse).even the amount of water in the fingerbowl is more than the quantity of shorba..2ndly lets us come to masala papad..there's only papad without masala(can understand prices of tomato and onions going up,but v are paying for it,SIR),nothing 2 comment abt the gravy... read more -

Terrible! 2011-10-22
By far one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. Punjab Lion is a wholesome awful experience. Priced in the expensive range it serves uncooked, stale and low grade quality food.
I was not surprised to read a review from another Burper who referred to getting food poisoning. Apart from the horrendous food at outrageous prices their service (specifically delivery) is one of the worst ever.
Overall a poor experience with meek (read 'no') chances of improvement.
My Advice - AVOID! -

I agree completely tht this place serves gud food..bt i am highly disappointed wit d home delivery service..
i had ordered for jst butter chicken in april at arnd 8 pm nd had to cal several times to send my order...finally received it at 11pm..i forgt d incidnce thinkin tht thr mebbe sum probs..but today aftr 3months , i ordered kukkad lasooni nd sade naan...at sharp 7.15pm...didnt receive it til 8.15pm...called up d hotel nd asked abt my order...d guy on d call banged d fone , whn i questioned him..stil aftr d insult..my mom called at arnd 9pm..i guess d same guy picked up d fone...didnt answe... read more -

Nice place to get .. food poisoning 2011-06-01
Around 6 months back, I used to be a big fan of this place. Recommended this to a bunch of my friends. Used to order frequently from there.
However, for last couple of months the standard has gone downhill. They have changed their cook and as a result the food quality has suffered. They kept on increasing the price and reducing the portion size. The delivery time was almost always close to 2 hours. And they will invariably send the wrong items. If you are ordering from them, don't go by the prices on menu; they'll charge you almost 20-25% extra and claim that the prices keep changing... read more -

Great food, sloppy service 2011-04-14
Great Punjabi food. So far have tried Kukkad Amritsari (recommended) , Tandoori chicken & Butter chicken. All dishes were either excellent or very good.
Service is horrible. You have to wait for a long time after ordering each dish (atleast 20-25 mins). The management and waiting staff always appear clueless on how to run a restaurant.
Don't ever ask for home delivery, it will take atleast an hour and a half and in one case - it never came (not suprised anymore).
Overall, if you don't mind waiting for a long time for your order - the food is generally very good - and makes it worthwhi... read more -

having heard quite a lot about this new joint in goregaon east we decided to go there ourselves. we went there on 26th january 2011. we reached the restaurant around 10pm and were told to wait for 15-20mnts. after around 30 mnts a table nearby became vacant. inspite of that none of the waiters asked us to occupy it. when my husband went to the area where all the waiters seemed to be standing not knowing where to go, he was told to sit wherever he wanted to but not to expect them to serve for another half an hour or so as they were already running late for the orders placed already. so much for... read more -

PROS:
1. Great food and nice ethnic ambience.
2. Reasonably priced.
CONS:
1. The menu had a small font which I was not able to read without my glasses (my wife had to read it for us)
2. Outside seating meant mosquitoes galore hence reach early to ensure that you are seated inside.
3. Small portions (and not boneless)

Nestled a few blocks away from the main gate of film city, Punjab Lion is a tastefully done up cozy place that serves you authentic punjabi food. The ambiance is warm and welcoming with unique lamps and charpois that give the place a truly punjabi touch. You cannot miss their Amritsari Shera Naan dripping with white makkhan that will surely make u forget any calorie counting! The chicken and paneer melt in ur mouth and the zaffrani chicken is a sure winner! They soon plan to introduce some punjabi specialties that are available during the winters and worth a try.
