A few weeks ago, I wrote a good review of 5 Spice, and gave 3 stars for the quick service and big portions. I had not liked the food then, but I decided to give this place another chance.
This time around, the food was absolutely unbearable. So oily and spicy that the actual taste of ingredients was killed. My non-veggie friends (who love spicy food) also couldn't tolerate it. The ambiance was noisy and irritating and hot! We kept requesting the waitstaff to turn on the AC but they just wouldn't pay heed. We called for 1 mocktail per head, and shared rice and noodles amongst 8 people - and coughed up Rs.450 per head!
Okay...no more chances. 5 Spice is off my list.

I have given two birthday treats there and my friends ask for more.
Lovely ambiance and courteous attendants.
Food are in good proportions and Chinese just too good.

Been to this place several times. Ambience is 3/5 - no music, a little bit noisy. Second floor has very low ceilings - watch your step. Service is something very weird - you ask for something, and the waiter finds another waiter and asks him to do that, and then everybody simply forgets.
Beer choice is very limited.
Food is wonderful, one portion is enough for 2-3 persons easily.
Place is great for people who are not big fans of super spicy food - all dishes here are low to medium spicy.
Definetely worth at least one visit

Being one of the very few good Chinese eateries in Bandra, 5 Spice is thronged on weekends. So we booked a table in advance and got through.
We called for 4 starters: chilli chicken, wantons, spring roll and crispy potato. The service was super-quick! The food was on too spicy for my taste but yum nonetheless. 1 portion of burnt chilli fried rice and 1 portion of korean noodles sufficed for the eight of us! Now that's what 5 Spice is all about. We ended with 1/2 kg toblerone cake and a portion of baked cheesecake. All this and we paid Rs. 300 per head.
I would have given 4 on 5 if it wasn't for the arrogant waiters.
