Just Short of Perfect 2012-05-04
It's ironic that it took a friend from Bangalore to introduce us to the culinary powerhouse that Salt Water Cafe is. We went for a chilled out dinner to celebrate a 25th and the overall experience was certainly a memorable one.
We loved the place from the minute we handed over the car keys to the valet. Don't be fooled by it's seemingly small size. The restaurant has three seating areas, though the ground floor is best lit and most happening by the looks of it. We had to wait on the terrace for fifteen minutes and face the wrath of Bandra mosquitoes before being shifted downstairs.

When I went to Salt water cafe the only thing I carried was high expectation. The place has humble exteriors. Just at the entrance, the place appears more of a patisserie rather than a restaurant displaying wonderful pastries and cheese cakes. On moving further inside finally you see the restaurant. The place has a tranquil and soothing feel to it possibly because of the decor which has classy wooden furniture and white colored walls. The ambience is really nice and somehow encourages conversations.

Ambience. Check. Food. Check. Beer. Huh? 2012-05-04
The place is pretty, that you have to hand to them. The canteen benches are refreshing but could do with a little bit of back support. The bottom of walls and a lonely pillar look like they have really roughed it with yellow patches and plaster threatening to fall off. The food is yum. We ordered the Potato Choux, a name even our waiter couldnt pronounce which made for a hilarious moment. This dish was great. The mushroom rissotto was greater. Just manages to be worth its salt... 2009-06-11
For those who fretted that Chowpatty's Salt Water Grill shut its doors, fear not, because you now have Salt Water Cafe in Bandra. Although, the lovely sea view may have been replaced by BMC's never ending road construction work right outside.
As soon as you enter, on the right you will find a mouth watering display of cold cuts, cheese and desserts. But we're not talking about the food yet! The cafe unfolds to your left and is quite airy and spacious.
