  • loved the place!! May 11, 2013

    I have been to predecessor: Salt Water Grill and now had recently visited the successor; Salt Water Cafe. Both of them are Club class. Enjoyed the food, ambiance and the service. Great place to treat friends and family. Would definitely visit again.

    Had heard sooo much about the place but can confirm now that all the hype is not worth it. The fod is nothing great and the menu is not innovative.

    Salt Water Cafe...what can I say? It's good, it's informal, it's on the cheaper side...

    Last time I ate the Asparagus Soup (very tasty) and the Pan Seared Chicken Legs (great sauce). It didn't disappoint. Also, they have one of the best Dark Choco Chip Cookies around...not like the usually doughy/floury crap one gets.

    I am stuck in a bit of a routine here since I end up getting the same things every time...in addition to the above mentioned, I get the Caesar Chicken Salad, John Dory, Chicken Schnitzel Burger...but I guess, why change something if it ain't broken, right?

    I had been here earlier, but not in the recent past. Decided to meet up with friends on a wednesday at around 8 pm. Just a couple of tables occupied including ours, given the fact that it was a wednesday, breathed a sigh of relief. Friend recommended the Sangria and we ordered that, the first sip seemed a little weird. Not being very knowledgeable about Sangria, decided to keep quiet and the fruit helped ;)

    It's a treat to dine at Salt Water Cafe, a restaurant near Mount Carmel Church in Bandra Reclamation, which offers excellent European cuisine. Apart from the food, there were three things that I loved about Salt Water Cafe: the all-wood decor, the arrangement of the tables (lots of elbow room, so others' conversations don't get in your way or the dining experience), and the friendliness of the staff. Must go there again.

    The place was cozy and lighting good for a place where one can meet and have a conversation. Often I find the music too loud, inhibiting us to have any kind of conversation. One thing I like about this place is that I can talk to people without straining my vocal chords. Reasonably priced menu and drinks and a good unlimited cocktails offer make this a place to consider if you head towards Bandra and are not looking to club.

    Breakfast - yummy. Waffles with maple syrup is what I die for.
    Love the fresh baked bread basket .
    My favorite - Smoked Salmon and The Pan Seared John Dory RISOTTO.
    Friendly staff always with a smile.
    BUT - the last visit was a disaster - I had already placed the order when the Manager asks me to go downstairs and sit. Sad.

    Few days back,i did not have a good experience.These guys called me back and offered a complimentary meal.Bread basket was decent.Lasagna was good enough.its smoked tomato reminded me of the moussaka i had at waterstones.spinach,orange,sesame granola salad was good.it would have been great if there were less leaves.The tiramisu was superb.Order it if you dont mind reasonably excess coffee in your tiramisu.It was served with porcini ice cream.I wont say i loved it...but it was certainly very innovative and did not taste bland.it had the right amount of flavor.The dark chocolate creme brulee was... read more

    , India Fresh baked bread in potli .Smoked Salmon with assorted citrus fruit with crips fresh fennel, N. Pan Seared John Dory with sundried tomatoes with sunflower seed RISOTTA.Tried thr famous mud pie somehow not that grt.AMBENCE high chairs .Plum Mocktal lovely. Service- staff with FRIENDLY SMILE. Portion -small n expensive too BUT WORTH it.
