Sammy Sosa is a Viraat, Samraat and their crew enterprise which I should have been to long back, but I only started frequenting 2 years ago. It is quite easily one of the best places for gourmet beer and good food. Been here for drinks, dinner, lunches and they do them all equally well.
Samraat and Viraat (Sorry guys, if I got your spellings wrong) are the brains behind this foodie paradise and know their beer pretty well. Unlike other armchair restaurant operators, they are on the floor all the time, and with the patrons right from the word go. Seating, suggesting food and drinks, taking feedback and the whole nine yards. The excellent 165 reviews before mine should speak for itself.
One of the 2 places in Mumbai i frequent for the variety of beer. There are the drinks menu, the food menu and then they have the beer menu. Beer is sourced from all over europe and asia, and on my last visit, from the US as well now. Though it could be expensive on the pocket to have some of the most exquisite ones which easily cost 600 bucks plus for a bottle. The owners would help you figure which one you want, and if you need more than one, suggest good pairings with the food you are having. I recently had the Brooklyn Lager here, something I haven't spotted elsewhere in the city so far.
The food menu has very very good recipes executed well on the Mexican as well as the World cuisine side of things. Try the Texi Mexi, the Nachos, the Quisedellas amongst some of the things I personally recommend here.
For a good time, this is easily the place to be!
