Sandwich & Co is so small that it could almost be called a hole in the wall. But what a classy hole in the wall it is! 4 small tables occupy a tiny al fresco space in front of an equally small, but inviting deli store. The store was well-lit and our 2-3 minute walk around seemed to indicate that it was well stocked with hip breads and deli style cheeses & cold cuts.
But let’s get on to the sandwiches.
The menu has some 6-8 sandwich options for both vegetarians & non vegetarians. My friend and I chose the Country Club sandwich and the Lox & Cream Cheese bagel. Both, as it turned out, were excellent choices. They didn’t scrimp on the smoked salmon and cream cheese on my bagel and the onion rings, though unorthodox, added a nice crunch & flavor element to the sandwich. My friend’s County Club was simply bursting with meaty goodness. And yes, both sandwiches were *massive*. So massive that we couldn’t finish em in that one sitting.
I had just two minor pain points.
Considering the attention to detail on the food, I was a little disappointed that each sandwich came with a small bag of Lays chips. It’d really, really have added to the experience if we could’ve gotten actual fries or onion rings with our sandwiches.
Also, what’s with the obscenely priced drinks? Come on now.
At over Rs.300 per sandwich, yes, the sandwiches are ridiculously expensive. But they’re just as ridiculously delicious, so I’d say this place is a must-visit.
