Fellow Burrpers - listen up: It's ❤ at first taste here.
You owe it to your stomach to try this deli, but don't get there too early and buy all the home-made cakes and bread before I do. OK?
I dream about the dark chocolate cake. Reassuringly weighty when you grab a slab, lusciously warm still, and dripping with dark chocolate glaze. Goodness gracious me, it's smoother than the Sea Link.
The banana and walnut cake fills you with less guilt when purchasing, but it's just as delicious. The home-made bread, bagels and snacks are the best in town. Don't come here if you're a fan of Bimbo's perfect white squares of foam though. Everything is a bit more healthy, tasty and nutritious than that, thankfully. Hence the name of the place: Santé = health.
Imported European cheese, dairy, and meats fill the cabinets and leave you spoilt for choice. The staff are only too happy for you to try before you buy. Just don't get cheeky and try to get a free lunch out of them.
Other wondrous delights await you in all the nooks and crannies of this long, thin shop, which makes for a bit of a treasure hunt-feel to grocery shopping. Genuine Italian pasta, authentic Japanese ingredients, and quality coffees await the connoisseur. If you can eke them out!
You probably won't come here regularly for the weekly shop (read: prices are 5* due to most items being imported), but stop by once in a while and treat you and your significant other to some quality fare. Your taste buds will thank you for it. Trust me. Mine are singing now that I have found this place.
