  • Bun Maska, Chinese, Sizzlers, Puffs....Wow!!! 2011-05-22

Everything I've tried here has been great! And there's still so much more to try...
Really like the typical Parsi ambience which includes the high ceilings, old furniture and lively uncle sitting at the galla. Not to forget the ultimate Raspberry soda! Cheers to Sassanian!

    Another College time place...
Food is good.. Bun maska chai.. repeat it at least 3 times..
Uncle at the counter tells me one joke everytime i go there...
    And I enjoy it everytime..
"No trains are going beyond Churchgate today..."
He will wait for the scared look on the Bombaywalla who's jus come face to fact of his greatest fear.. NO TRAINS..
"You know why.. cos trains go only till Churchgate"
    Its a Bombay Moment :)
    Simple but for a lifetime

  • Good first experience 2010-12-18

I had no idea that something as simple as bread and butter with a cup of tea could taste so divine!
I had no idea of the traditional background of this restaurant. I went in for a sweetcorn soup.. as the board outside said " veg and nonveg chinese". But the sweet smell of the bakery changed my mind. So I asked for tea and something fresh. The waiter was a bit annoyed with my questions of " whats fresh"
So finally he settled for bun maska.
And oh boy oh boy.. it was awesome.
And the old guy behind the counter was awesome, we had a quick english lesson.
I am gonna visit the resta

  • super kheema pao 2010-12-17

Last week , though friend and I rushed we just did not make it for the kheema pao with chai. One of the best in this part of the world. this place is a definite no-miss when in southern Bombay.
Though a road-side cafe the food is of the special flavor that takes you back decades in Bombay - like th 70's.
The other menu is now quite ordinary - the cakes are decent. There are special Sassanian flavors of the yesteryear , but not in all the dishes.
