Good Food but have to work on Cleanliness 2012-01-31
The Mutton Biryani is the best in Shalimar and I have been there several times just for eating the same. The Tandoori & Kebab items are also very delicious and they also serve Indian Chinese Sizzlers which were also very good. There is a mad rush at all hours and there is also a special ac waiting room. But the last few time I have gone, I have seen baby cockroaches walking on the wall next to our table and once on the table itself. When I told the waiter he said "Apne aap chala jayega". My Review explains Exactly how this Restaurant is..... This very old restaurant situated in the most crowded places in Mumbai has somehow lost its charm, The famous old "Tandoori Chicken" is drenched in Red color and doesn't taste that good anymore.... I hence mark it down on "Quality", The gravy I ordered was too less in quantity as well so I would mark it down on "Quantity".... Not extremely "Pricey" but the taste lacks the OOmph factor..... Its not a bad option if you are in the "Bhendi Bazaar" area but I would not come all the way to visit this restaurant.... which I do frequently in the city... read more -

Going from gud 2 bad 2 worse - still a 3 star now 2011-07-22
Guys, have eaten at this place umpteen times. Yes they do have certain dishes whihc are unbeatable, but to be honest it is more abt the name and almost nothing about the food now. The latest experience I took was in the royal seating arrangement ( Dastarkhwaan)that this restaurent provides, the food was just passable.....still one can keep going back for Mutton Hungama, Prawns Hungama, Shawarma and the falooda. Everything else that we get there....is just abt okay. -
