Big let down... 2011-05-09
Had a similar experience as Kaymum. Had been to this place about 3 - 4 years ago, and it was quite decent. So, decided to go back there again earlier this week, and i was completely disappointed. I paid 200 odd bucks for what seemed to be a specialty, gavran kombi rassa, (country chicken curry) with chapattis, and going by the price i expected at least a decent sized portion of the chicken dish, that would serve at least 2. what i got instead was a mid-sized katori of 6-7 chicken pieces, mostly bones and gravy! agree that the gravy was decent, but i akly had to ask the waiter, 'is this it?' cos... read more -

Totally Overrated 2011-03-24
You might choose to agree or disagree, but either way, it’s food for thought. Sindhudurg has been a landmark in Dadar for Malwani food and I'd eaten here over 10 years back, carrying a satiated memory in my heart all these years.
However my experience in the recent past has been far from satisfied.
Yesterday Lunchtime - Having ordered 2 Thalis, a Fish Thali and a Veg one with an extra order of Mutton Sukhe, one would expect to have a decent meal. Sadly that was not to be. The restaurant's surly service(the Fish Fry though a part of the Thali was conveniently omitted till we... read more -

Only try the Chicken Thali !!! 2011-03-02
I dont even have to give an order in this place....
They know me since i was a small kid !!!!
For 16 years my order has been the same...
Chicken thali, vada instead of rice, solkadi instead of veggie and 4 extra vadas again !!!
N well they have been successfully serving me the same old taste for all these years !!!
No complaints..... -

One of the better malvani food places... 2009-02-11
Most Malvani food places are dirt cheap and come with a correspondingly cheap ambiance. But Sindhudurg's scores over all on this. It's clean, spaced out and comfortable and privacy if you wish.
The food is decent but the portions could be larger. Fried prawns did not do justice to their price. The steel plates & bowls "Taatt ani wati" give a homely feel but also make the portions feel tinier. -

I love my Sindhudurg! 2007-07-30
I have grown up eating at this place and every single time i go there i fall in love all over again!
The place feels clean and hygenic with its steel furniture and airconditioned, spaced out areas.
Most Malwani food places are known to have cold waiters and poor service but Sindhudurg, Dadar stands as an exception. The service is excellent and waiters are prompt (once, i had ordered ifsh at home and i thought the size of my pomfret piece was too small, they came all the way home and exchanged it)
