so my mission to find new restaurants finally ended with me discovering this really good and VFM place .
Spice it at ibis hotel (next to sahara star ) ...created a very good first impression .
have been here 2 times already once for the buffet and once ala carte .and seems liek the look of it..a few more .
we are informed about our choices in a la carte n a lavish buffet
the first time around went for the buffet (greedy me )
so the dinner buffet is pretty awesome .
2 soups followed by tons of salad (yippie )
well in salads they had chicken salad + beef salad (wow ..dont remember the last i saw a beef salad) and 6 veggie salads . plenty of fresh greens in the spread .
the chicken salad was good and the beef salad i just kept having it with the main course n the desserts too .
just as i was about to finish with the salads ..we were informed ...about the LIVE kathi roll counter .what !!! kathi rolls ...wait are we in delhi...so greedily we all called for the kathi rolls (chicken n paneer ) . made to perfection
Have been to 300 + buffets ...but have never seen a live kathi roll counter ever .
The chef at the kathi counter asked us if we wanted pasta's instead . NO way ...not in the presence of nice Kathis.
so we now order 2 diet cokes + 1 fresh lime soda ...they put ice cubes plus a slice of lime in the glasses ..... the 5th star goes for that . !!!
now comes the main course ...with even more expectations..we venture for the main course...its abut 2-3 non veg + 4 veg + naans + noodles etc etc
the food was tasty ..fish in coconut sauce took the max marks and so did the paneer item . The chicken dish was pretty ok ...( no comparison to the fish )
the food was well cooked and after a really long time i found food that was well cooked .
desserts were an ultimate surprise ... but when u keep kheer + malai sandwitches + paan + black forest pastry + dutch truffle pastry + RAS MALAi .. u r bound to regret why u ate so much of the main course in the first place .
so again greedily wiped out the entire sweets counter .ok they didn't have any ice cream ...but still ...the deserts were overwhelming .
i swore that day that i will find out who the chef was and send him a fb friend request (yet to figure it out ) .
and when our bill came ....it was 449 + taxes ..so 520 roughly.
totally worth it .
am so coming back to this place again .....!!!!
Good bye Buffet at The orchid...hello buffet at Spice it !!!!
