Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
I was quite surprised, and disappointed, to find out that Sports Bar has a Rs 2,000 cover charge for watching World Cup matches. For a place that has never had a reputation for being upscale or drawing a high end crowd, you would think that they would rather create a fun and packed atmosphere for watching matches instead of keeping the place empty. A group of 8 of us walked out and went to Blue Frog instead to watch Brasil vs Portugal, got a table, had excellent food and drinks and enjoyed ourselves much more than we ever would at Sports Bar.

I was a little taken aback when I saw that the sports bar at phoenix turned into a buffet place for lunch, Now that's quite a transition but nonetheless, we decided to give it a try. At 299, it was quite a steal given the location. There was a soup and salad counter...wht was innovative was that the soup was a chilli clear soup (veg) with boiled veggies/chicken pieces/bread crumbs/cream etc. as add ons. The salads were good with the chicken salad really good. Main course consisted of 3 veg dishes (paneer, okra, zucchini) and 2 non veg (fish thai curry/palak murg) tasted quite ok. there were two... read more
This happened when a few of us decided to go see the IPL semi finals between Mumbai Indians and RCB at Sports Bar. We reached the place at 7pm so that we could find and good place to site. However, when we entered we were shocked to hear the Manager tell us that the cover charge for the place is Rs. 1800 PER PERSON! and we werent all stags. So I asked him again "Its 1800 per couple right?" The Manager replied "No. Its Rs.1800 per person!"
I find it ridiculous and also deceiving when places like sports bar charge a ridiculous cover charge with hardly any good beverages on the menu. So we... read more
Three of us went to Sports Bar at 7 pm on Wednesday so that we could watch the MI vs RCB Semis. I was surprised to see that the place was empty and I assumed we were the first few people to land up. But just as we were about to take our seat, the manager asked us to shell out Rs. 5400 if we intended to watch the IPL match. (Yes, that's Rs. 1800 per person. And it wasn't as though we were stags.) Absolutely ridiculous. Even 6 pitchers of beer amongst 3 of us along with snacks wouldn't cost that much at Sports Bar on another day. And what's the point of having a Sports Bar that charges people for... read more
