Yersterday night I visited TGC wid my wife & kid for my birthday treat. Nice food, nice atmos wid live gazals, nice ambiance, average service. Overall nice experience. -

what a Mehfil 2011-08-19
GC plays live Gazals in the evening and the guy sings really well. u'l end up drinkin extra once he starts singing "thodi thodi peeya karo";-) as this place is vry close to my ofiice i go here vry often on a friday after a hectic week or sometimes jst hop in for a quick lunch. the food here is jst amazing especially the starters and kebabs. i'm a big fan of their langar wali dal and chicken biryani. Oh yea the best part... we have special discounts on our office id cards as we work in the vicinty :-) -

I visited this place on thursday as I want to have a candle light dineer with my friend.
I have made prior resevation but dont think that is required as place was not much crowded.
Ambience was good. Red decor with the candle light was a perfetcly romantic set up.
Even ghazals were good but was bit too loud at time.
We ordered manchow soup but soup was too salty and disappointed us.We complained about the soup to the manager and he was kind enough to change the soup.The replaced soup was good.

Amazing 2011-01-25
Two outings by our team and we were never disappointed. The food was tasty. The quantity justified the price. The ghazals were good. the setting was a bit too dark but all and all good. Really would love to go back again. As a chance we decided to try out another place. Man we decided no more. the golden chariot is the place for us. and in the end the Manager was kind enough to give us a 10% discount being from the banking sector on both occassions. All in all paisa vasool even though a bit on the high side. -

Good Food but Too Loud Ghazals 2011-01-12
This place has pretty good food. Only thing that takes the steam out is the loud volume of the ghazalists. The design of this place is not suitable for playing loud volumes. It just echoes and adds to the irritation. One cannot enjoy the food then.
Normally ghazals are something that are played softly in the background, but here they play it like a pub. You can't have an across the table conversation without shouting.
Request the Mgmt to seriously consider this. Sometimes the very fact that ghazals are played loudly has stopped me from entering this place which serves good food.

Consistent deterioration 2011-01-01
This used to be golden Chariot and then was renamed to Mehefil. They started out with good quality and choice. Over time, the choices have come down drastically - only matched by the fall in quality. And what in heavens name is the red decor for. After a while it's quite creepy.
Overall, not the best choice. -

We visited the restaurant last evening with our friends. the entrance to golden chariots sits hidden in a corner and one can easily mistake it for the pub next door (may be we did because we were busy chatting). The place seemed to suffering from a severe Christmas hangover and we were told by our friend it's relatively mellow otherwise. Bright red lights, artificial flowers atop tables and Christmas balls dominated the decor. Nice overall experience 2010-12-25
I have frequented this place right from the time it opened. Earlier place was re-done into a pub & this on -Mehfil was opened. I enjoy the taste of Chinese dishes, however the north Indian vegies are very heavy in gravy. You miss the base taste. Now a days main problems is coming about the parking b'cause of construction going around. Otherwise have enjoyed the ambience & hospitality. -

Weekend Fun with Movie and Lunch 2010-10-27
This Saturday, I and my friend decided to have a lunch at Hub Mall after our Morning show at Cinemax at one of the most known restaurant i.e. Golden Chariot at Goregaon. We tried their speciality as suggested by the head of the Restaurant, believe me that was one of the best food we had in our life. Normally food in many mumbai hotels taste the same but the taste, service and quality time we had was blast... -
