NO PICTURES PLSSS 2010-11-14
we were 3 of us n one of our frn wanted to eat punjabi food...so we thought either to go for BBQ nation (whos got awesome punjabi starters) or Jail (restaurant where none of us had been)...we selected Jail ..as we thought it wud make evening more special as we wud b able to CLICK PICTURES n have dem framed..(we do tht all the times)
But to our surpise we were not allowed to click pictures..PLSS see to it tht we r allowed to click pictures..tht makes evening even more special..

Overall good place - must try 2010-10-31
Its a nice theme based restaurant and the food is average.
I was there with a friend and we had a good time together.
It is somewhat on the nosier side with good live music. It was mainly Boyzone/Bryan Adams etc.
The dishes seemed to be around 300-400 each. I can not say if it was pricey as I got a free meal for some mis-hap on the restaurant side. The whole staff was apologetic for it.
Overall experience was good. -

Indian EXPECTATIONS & ERRORS with Hotel Mgmts 2010-09-03
At the onset I believe JAIL is a mesmerizing experience. My stars say it all so I’m saving you time to read praise.
Coming from the Hospitality, Bar & Club Business I can only share the following suggestions to all patrons -
1stly there is no shelf price on F & B in Mumbai or India for any Rest or Bar. It’s the Quality & the Concept that you are paying for. If you find it expensive DONT COME back till you can afford it/or are dissatisfied.
2ndly The most common problem in INDIA is patrons never share their valuable opinions in case of an untoward incident (eg... read more -

This is the burrp expert reviewer writing in again...my profession and my travels have ensured ive eaten in a wide variety of theme based restaurants and this concept wasnt very new for me but just for the sheer interest of the management namely mr nilesh roy on burrpp compelled me to go to this outlet..im going to give a fair review of everything and pretty unbiased including my culinary experience...
lets get to the location its a really nice dainty location huddled in trees and hard to spot initially but once u enter the main building you realise its quiet swanky on the inside...

Vasu was treating us for his new HIGH paying job.. :D and this place was just the exact match for us..
Very Spacious
Good Food (Biryani and Onion Rings just rocks)
Drinks (ok ok.. its the same everywhere)
We enjoyed the Jail theme and the breakout that these guys enacted...
Live music was very good..
Priced more than average.. this is a place must be visited once, with your group of friends.. -

Good Food and Nice Ambiance 2010-08-29
The Good Stuff:
We were seated at the Van :0) and for Starters ordered Chermoula Chicken & Kalmi Tangadi - Yummy.
However if you don’t fancy Chicken with bone don’t order 'Kalmi Tangadi' you may not like it.
The Not so Good Stuff:
Ahem! The Mocktail- Hawaii Twist: sorry but the Bannan flavor was more dominant than the other two flavor and this I hated. (yuk!)
Also the Steward(130-Vikas) was for some reason in a hurry. (maybe he had a date and his boss asked for an OT) right after we ordered for our 2'nd started he was insistent on us ordering the... read more -

Something diffferent!! 2010-08-15
Just tried this place on a saturday night!!! Great ambience, loved the fact that it was so spacious (a rare thing in mumbai restaurants/lounges).. Really QUICK Service..and with hot and yummy food..
Pricing was decent and the music was great too..
Mumbaikars - definitely worth a visit.. -

Average Food, Awesome Ambience 2010-08-13
Typically known for its ambience, this jail like any other completely fails when it comes to the food. Oily and average that's how you would describe the food served here. The ambience is outstanding and will take you by absolute delight. You can dine behind the bars without committing a crime. It's too much fun but before you think your kids might enjoy it, let me tell you that the entry is only for 21+. Hope they improve the quality of food, the place looks really welcoming and fun otherwise. -

Great Service, Great Food!! 2010-08-09
After a long time got to visit a place which could satisfy my taste buds and at the same time provided great service and cool ambiance.
I ordered Cigar Rolls, Tomato Beans soup, Cottage cheese stew and barbeQ-chicken... and trust me all were good...
except for the dessert menu.. which is very limited..
Music is lively.. thou not great..
place is different.. worth visiting. -

GOOOD Experience 2010-08-08
It was a different experience. The place was really good.
Ambience was lovely.. The whole concept was soo different.
Food was awesome. We had a variety of starters and trust me all were damn good.
