The Urban Kitchen (TUK) has a baseline that reads- ‘It’s tuking awesome!’ Is it really?
Food- The cuisine comprises of mainly Italian and Indian vegetarian food but you do get a lot of other things. For example, you’ll find Pav Bhaji and Chhole Bature on the menu too. We called for a Focaccia Sandwich which had marinated mushrooms, balsamic onion, olives and jalapeno. I don’t eat mushrooms or olives but my friends had it and they loved it. Then we had the Jalapeno cheese fritters served with a dip. Both were awesome! The Pita bread with hummus was a little bland for my taste though. Then we called for pizzas- The Quattro Formaggio (combination of 4 cheeses on the pizza.) was lip smacking good and super yummy! The last thing we had was Spaghetti Alio Olio Peprencino which was spicy and had the right flavours to make it awesome! So they’ve got the food right for sure and I’d one hundred percent come back to try some more food!
Ambience- TUK is located at Bandra West, in the National College lane and pretty easy to find. It’s nicely lit with a contemporary look and comfortable seating. There’s an outside as well as inside section.
Service- Good efficient service and your food wont take too long to come which is a good thing. The manager makes sure you have a good time.
Prices- The prices are normal. The Focaccia sandwich is for Rs. 125, a basic pizza would cost you Rs. 175 and then toppings, etc. The Hummus and Pita bread is for Rs. 115, the Spaghetti is for Rs. 195 and so on. So we paid about Rs. 230 per head which is not bad at all and worth the food you eat there!
Verdict- TUK is a great restaurant and they’ve got great chefs! There aren’t too many places that serve such good food for your money’s worth. I recommend! And yes, it is TUKing awesome! ;)
