  • Different experience, but don't go hungry Dec 03, 2012

Went to the village last night. A very "different" ambience. Staff was over-enthusiastic to please (a good thing) and the tables were well spread out. Contrary to other reviewer's opinions, I found the place to be fairly well kept.

But the food itself was a major disappointment. The appetiser drinks had excessive water and little flavour to them. The starters arrived within 60 seconds of us being seated. We figured they were pre-prepared (confirmed later). The Indian food was HORRIBLE, lying around in open containers with no one to look after it. On the flip side, the dosas were good,

Was invited to a corporate party. The ambience is like a mis mash of a road side dhabha a jail, saloon etc. Visually one can appreciate the overall look but the stench was unbearable I mean every corner was dirty. Maybe the interiors are such that it may be difficult to clean or what? Food was ok. The live sweet counter was excellent..

  • can try it once! Jan 10, 2012

It’s like a zoom-in version of the famous Chowki Dhani. The whole place has a rustic feel to it from ambience to food. There will be waiters inviting guests for dandiya, village woman reading cards and the likes. Also, the food is very close to what one would get in a Rajasthani wedding.

The buffet includes chaats, kababs, beverages (butter milk, flavoured milk shakes, cold drinks), dal bati, khichdi, main course (ranging from dal to sarso ka saag and maki ki roti), desserts (jalebi, mal pau, phirni). And, all this is for Rs 440 inclusive of taxes during lunch.

  • Different experience Quite nice Dec 02, 2011

First and foremost if you are expecting fine dining, the village is not your cup of tea. The village ambiance resembles a typical Indian village with a barber's chair, central jail, central spot under the tree and even a ''ladies teller'' ( ladies tailor)

The food spread is pretty big, chaat counter, various kinds of vegetarian and non veg starters (kebabs) and soft drinks. They do not serve any liquor. The waiters are very efficient and bring the starters to your table from the buffet. The Gandhi caps that they make you wear at the start puts you in the mood for a typical village treat
