Okayish Food, Clumsy Service 2012-05-19
Sanjeev Kapoor is a star chef and u would expect his restaurant to be really 'fine'. But Yellow Chillies could just be any other restaurant on ur lane - nothing stands out. Food by itself is strictly Ok. Hara Bhara Kebab was soggy, and Dahi Kebabs which I loved at 'Oye Punjabi' dhaba were just so so.
The service on the other hand was really clumsy. Food took forever to arrive. Waiters were just not smart or presentable enough and then to top it all, when he got the breads to serve us, he dropped all of it on the tray. -

Mediocre Food 2012-04-22
It is part of a chain of restaurants run by Mr Sanjeev Kapoor. Hence, when I went there I had a lot of expectations. The initial impression was good as the place has a warm and cozy feel to it. The staff was warm and friendly. They have a Buffet named Chilli Q and we decided to try it. We were provided with Tomato soup which was pretty average. It was followed by Papadi Chat which was really nice. It was on spicy side though. Between Veg and Non Veg starters I liked the Veg better despite being a Hard core Non Vegetarian. Burnt Yellow Chilli! 2012-04-09
I have been here three times with different groups of people. But somehow all the three times Yellow Chilli left me unimpressed.
The ambiance is nothing to be spoken of, a regular looking decent setting. Service is slow, its better you place your next order while you get served the present order or else you will have to wait for a long time.
Coming from Sanjeev Kapoor, the Indian cookery genius, you expect the presentation and taste to be out of this world. But you are again left disappointed because the presentation is just ordinary and the food tastes the usual. Nothing except... read more -

The worst restaurant in Powai 2012-04-08
After one visit, I would never return to this place, which stands out as the worst dining experience I have ever had in Mumbai. The interior looks run-down and has not been maintained. The waiters were slow and not at all attentive. When our order was finally taken, my friends, who eat meat, ordered a meat combination special. Before I could place my order, the waiter left and gave it to the kitchen. When we finally got the waiter to come back to the table and said that I wanted to order something veg, he insisted that he had already put in the order for three people and that it couldn't be changed... read more -

slip slidin' away 2012-04-07
Started going here over a year ago and found it superb in the beginning, then watched it go downhill till it became an average restaurant with above average price, then stopped going there. Presumably Sanjeev Kapoor is busy elsewhere. -

Poor food quality! 2012-03-20
After reading various bad reviews, I thought it was still worth trying since it's a Sanjeev Kapoor restaurant. But should've listened to the reviews. The food is simply plain very very oily and not tasty at all! Fruits were stale and the food generally was very very average quality. Even the vanilla ice-cream had ice-crystals! Many more better options in Powai.. don't get lured by the spread here! Strictly avoidable! -

Very nice place...good variety of food & very testy also......if they will add pan shot it will give more charm to finish buffet lunch with testy mouth freshener..i will anytime like to visit them again :) over all very gr8 experience -
