the best seafood i have ever eaten

service is very courteous. the two elderly gentlemen at the door are very polite as they guide u to your table

the butter garlic prawns are to die for , except that by the time u finish the last prawn the gravy has frozen thick because the ac in the restaurant is so high !

somewhat cramped seating but nothing beats the food. highly recommend it it to out of towners,,,,,,,,,

  • Butter garlic crabs 2011-06-12

No one I've brought to Trishna has ever said a bad word about their seafood. The butter garlic crab is the signature dish and tastes divine. Other dishes are of a more mortal standard but still wonderful. Try the huge king prawns (cooked in tandoori or other styles) and great calamari starter.

Their vegetable dishes are competent but forgettable, and you may not want to bother with them. Seafood (especially crab) is why people come here, and you need to conserve stomach room for that.

  • Unique Food || Unique Ambiance 2010-12-06

The food is certainly unique and the Ambiance is a mixture of old time tables, made to look modern with excessive use of glass. The tables are packed in a congested manner, but the unique charm still make it praiseworthy and ofcourse the food is unique.

Seafood apart from the cost of the catch was more or less home style with light masalas, predominantly having cocunut based gravys and rarely had I come across sea food with green gravy and never thought they paired very well.

But Trishna has managed to combine the north Indian cooking styles well with seafood and the blend

  • Rawas hyderabadi is to die for 2010-12-01

Everything about the restaurant is fantastic...the menu, the ambience, the food. Nothing to complaint about anyways. However, one thing you should try at this place is rawas hyderabadi. Your trip would be a waste without munching on this trishna delicacy

  • Great Food But... 2010-01-10

I really enjoy the food at Trishna. I think more than enough has been said in the other reviews about their butter pepper garlic crab.

The issue I have with the restaurant is when it comes to paying the bill. The restaurant includes a 10% service charge in every bill but makes no attempt to inform the customer when they are paying the bill. The waiters actually go out of their way to make it seem like a tip should be included when you sign your credit card slip (the detailed receipt isn't given unless you actually ask them to see it).

I have no problem giving tips for good servic

  • A Standing Ovation: 2009-12-11

As I stood outside Trishna, the first thing that caught my eye was: ‘Mumbai-London’. Was I entering into a restaurant with branches abroad? Suddenly my expectations were elevated. The place was bustling with happy people who surely seemed to be having a great time. Our foreigner friend had got us here and was certain that we were going to have the best food of our life time. The anticipation was building up and in a jiffy the order was placed. The waiter got the live gigantic prawns and chubby looking crabs to our table to show us whats getting cooked for us. The catch was quite a thing. The servic... read more

  • Debunking a myth 2009-11-18

For some strange reason this hole in the wall has been over hyped. Initially it was a passable Europeanised Mangalore fish curry place but in the past few years it is down right disappointing.

To begin with the seating is terribly uncomfortable especially for the over sized foreigners this restaurant claims is its main clientele. I also can't understand why it has two distinct dining areas especially now since smoking is banned in any case!

Apart from the ambiance which is decidedly tacky, the food is something else. The Hyderabadi fish which used to be succulent pieces of Rawas

  • Amazing sea-food with wine! 2009-11-07

Surely the butter garlic prawns are the best in class. Prices are steep - but totally worth it. If you are a novice in wines, please pay heed to the waiters and what they suggest. And totally proves the point that seafood goes specially well with white wines.
