It was a Sunday afternoon, I called Urban Tadka, Kandivali restaurant to book a table for two. The response was that our place is empty. You can drop in without any reservations. I reached the place in half an hour and, to my shock..the place was overcrowded. The waiter was trying to convince me to take the non-AC outside tables. However, I declined his suggestion and was forced to wait for 20 minutes till I get a table for us.
On entering the restaurant, it sounded like a fish market. I could hardly hear my friend talking to me. Place was very noisy. Somehow I didn't like the smell of the interior too. It was kindda foul. However, after waiting for 20-25 minutes I can't raise this issue now. So, adapted myself to the environment.
Now, the service was descent enough. However, the ending was disappointing when the server spilled some water on the table and wetting my friend's dress. Some food had been spilled by another waiter earlier too on the passage beside us. My new adaptation made me excuse all this.
Okay, now the important part - FOOD ... Yes, It was very good. The Punjabi varieties are really good. Makai ki roti and Lachchaa Paratha were simply awesome. We had a good time with the flavour and taste of food. For veggies, the choice is very limited.
Overall, hmm .. This place would have been great with a better service and toned up ambiance.
All discrepancies were compensated by a tasty food. :) ..
