ordered a starter (banjara kebab) which was good, asked d waiter whether the biryani was dum biryani & he said yes so we ordered, but biryani what he got was not dum biryani, if he dint know he should hav asked sum1 else & had our fav 4 wch v went thr lemon pudina. one more thing is that i think they should change their plates, the plates they use is actually ment to cover handi while cooking. its v noisy, makes an irritating sound & does not stay still while eating.

  • Absolutely Amazing place...Must visit ! ! ! 2012-01-20

I've been to urban tadka at their ghatkopar branch in R-City mall....I've gone there around 5-6 times.... The 1st time i went there was in July on my B'day. I found the ambiance very good as it had a wonderful indian touch to it. with bullock cart wheels...earthen pots, kites and firkees, paintings and a head lamp made of bangles...The service is very fast and good, with polite and suggestive waiters. I was taken aback on my b'day with their service...cz when my friends asked them that they wanna cut the cake for me, the waiter rushed and got a knife and candles. And when my friends started singing... read more

  • bang on! 2012-01-07

I went here like a year ago, haven't been there again but I'm pretty sure it's still the same. The ambience is pretty chilled out! A bit dim which just suit the mood perfectly!
A lot of indianess to the food and the drinks which is a total win!
They have happy hours which is like jannat when you are in a mood to get high!

They have a very limited menu for veg food! Which is okay and understood! But yes full marks to the food, there is this some red chutney kinda thing they give which is just simply yummy!

All in all money would be well spent here!

    I would

  • Can't go wrong 2012-01-02

I love this place. It is a dependable option whenever you want comforting Punjabi food with good, reasonably priced drinks.

It's usually jam-packed on weekends and mealtimes. But service is quick, so you can get a table if you plan well.

There aren't many sit-down restaurant options currently at R-City (although TGIF & Yoko's and whatever else opens up may change that). Until then, Urban Tadka is easily the best.

Can't go wrong with whatever you order... limited menu but all good.

  • Nice Tadka again! 2011-11-19

Having been to the Urban Tadka at Mulund a couple of times, today was my chance to check it out at R-city. The ambiance was pretty much similar to the one at Mulund but I found the lighting to be dimmer. With TGIF written all over out faces we began with the starters - Wah Wah Choley for the veggies and we were recommended the day's special Chicken Kasturi for the meat lovers. The Chicken was awesome and the veg starter wasn't disappointing either. We then decided to try the Nimbu Chicken which was on our must order list at Mulund, but ouch! big disappointment! The gravy tasted half cooked! We... read more

  • Its gone to the Pits :( 2011-11-18

Don't get me wrong, i am an UT-holic, but off lately its gone to the pits.
    Horrid food,
We ordered the tandori pomfret ,which had a dirrtyyyy stink to it. even after we returned it the stinkk was there, the crew seemed calm n casual bout it as if they knew they served bad food.
the main course had fish too, so we wanted to change that to chicken but the manager insisted on fish :| seriously, don't do that! after a long debate we gt it changed to chicken, we specifically asked for gravy, but it was thick and not possible to consume with rotis. The cutlery was dirty, i mean did you really

  • Veggies ---pls dnt step in!! 2011-11-09

Went there for my bday treat..
1st not much choice for starters in veggie section, neither was the waiter helpful for suggestions .Still as we had come in ,we ordered 3 non veg starters and 2 veg starters.
None of it was up to the mark , infat only 1 item was edible..
Moved out to Rainforest as rescue immediately after starters itself..
Urban Tadka -Mulund outlet has better options than this outlet for sure!!

Try their Macho drink(Vodka in coconut water served in the actual green coconut)
