A comfortable experience 2012-01-06
Honestly, after reading the reviews, I was inclined to suggest my friends to change the venue. But having been to the other branches, I was not going to give up so easily on UT.. And well, I was happy that we decided to continue with UT.. the ambience is good, we were seated in the outside area, but there were adequate arrangements for the mosquito problems.. Lemon chicken was good, surmai ke tikkey was succulent and the Goan prawn curry was awesome... the drinks were chilled and the jalebis and kulfis were too good.. Awful Home Delivery-Smelly/stale food, Rude staff 2011-12-10
Date of disaster- 10th December 2011.Bill no- 109462. The unfortunate dishes that were ordered for home delivery on the fateful night-
1) Nimbu Chicken- No Nimbu, garlic overshadowing all other flavors, reheated in stale oil.Unpalatable.
2) Bhoona Murgh- Ditto. Oily, inedible and even more unpalatable.
3) Paneer Tikka Masala and
4) Hariyali Pulav.- Zero flavour in both dishes. Stale oil used in the paneer. ZERO taste in the pulav with some sort of half hearted coulouring given to it.
Total Damage- 827 Rs.

im a urban tadka fan.. always luved deir food... n i luv d typical way dey serve food.. here neither d food is same dey dnt even keep d standard marinated onions, chutneys whch makes urban tadka unique. d food disappointed me big time.. it was a big let dwn.. please change d name of d place.. its nowhere close to the other urban tadka joints in mumbai.. -

Good food ... Average ambience ... Poor Service .. 2011-12-04
It was a Sunday afternoon, I called Urban Tadka, Kandivali restaurant to book a table for two. The response was that our place is empty. You can drop in without any reservations. I reached the place in half an hour and, to my shock..the place was overcrowded. The waiter was trying to convince me to take the non-AC outside tables. However, I declined his suggestion and was forced to wait for 20 minutes till I get a table for us.
On entering the restaurant, it sounded like a fish market. I could hardly hear my friend talking to me. Place was very noisy. Somehow I didn't like the smell... read more -

Good Experience 2011-11-08
In all, it was a good experience to visit this place, we ordered chicken ambarsariya which was good and mutton biryani which was better. Would like to visit again to taste other dishes. The ambience and service was average and could have been better. -

Ridiculously bad service, worth skipping 2011-10-08
I had heard good things about the other outlets of Urban Tadka, so considered visiting once with my family. I tried reserving a seat in advance, but was informed that they work on a first come first serve basis. Imagine my surprise when I saw that all the tables in the restaurant section were full because they were all reserved! We had to seat ourselves in the lounge section as there was no other option left. When I asked the waiter he said he was unaware about this and that the manager would be the one to ask. When I asked him to fetch the manager, he said yes, but never returned! 1 of the 3 start... read more -

Good Food! 2011-08-15
Tried out the place after the generally positive reviews on Burpp!
Positives:
1. The much touted Nimbu Chicken was awesome - the right flavor and the succulent meat was just - wow!
2. We also had the Peshawari Meat - the curry was excellent and the mutton was cooked to the right tenderness.
3. The ambience
Cons:
1. Service was generally slow
2. The garlic naan and the rumali roti could have been a lot better - seemed overcooked

Not a very happy Holi 2011-03-22
I had been to this place a couple of times before going here with my friends for dinner on Holi night. Having liked my previous experiences, had expected much better than what we got. Firstly, there was a lot of delay in getting our food after placing the orders. Our order for veg starters was completely forgotten & we ended up getting our starters along with the main course (we ordered for the main course reallly early cuz we knew there would be a delay). Fish tikka & Chicken tikka r simply delicious.........
Kebabs & Biryani .....never miss whenever u visit.Service staff were prompt, managers were very attentive and polite.
Rajma & Kadi are finger licking dishes..... -

Being an ardent fan of Urban Tadka, I have tried all the outlets in the city. However, I was disappointed when I visited the Kandivali branch on 29 April 2009 (I remember the date as it was my wedding anniversary on that day!), since it is close to my house in Malad. The taste of food was not upto the UT standards. Worst the signature dish Nimbu Chiken sucked big time and same was the case with Saagwale Chicken. The chicken was almost raw. Since then, I decided not to try this outlet again.
