Polly Esthers – Uhh... where do I begin???

Well, let me start describin the place and music. The place is huge with a bar in the centre and a tiny li’l dance floor in one corner, These guys always play retro to alternative rock.
The upside- the songs will elevate your mood; the downside- you will generally hear the same song in the same flow the next time you go there. The issue: you will still go there cos there is a serious dearth of places where you can enjoy good music with a good ambiance and some good people.

The people- Since Polly’s is situated in Colaba, it's always managed to have a good crowd of well dressed, well behaved people. It's not one of those places where you see too many men starin about; it’s a place where people don't get aggressive when your hand hits someone while dancing coz they know you didn't intend that in the first place, and they don't mind if you place your drink at their table coz you don't have a table of your own (this last one's probably because they have been in the same situation before themselves). Towards the end of the evening, everyone's singing along and shaking a leg to the good ol' retro tracks.

The place- It's nicely done, a bit claustrophobic due to the use of too much dark wood and dark lighting, but you take it in your stride. Oh did I forget to mention the disco ball – Well makes the place look awesome but then also blinds some people while they dance (it happened to me).

Now, this is where I will come to the element of Polly Esther’s – it is usually crowded and the drinks and food is higher than average. If this was the case with any other place, ideally people would refrain from going there, But Polly’s never seems to lose its crowd. If it does lose a few fans, there seems to be no dearth of people waiting to get in. So, the magic is working!!

A good location incase after partying one feels like grabbin a bite or takin a walk seaface.
