Status is a place where pure veggies (and of course staunch jains) can have a go for their craving taste buds. A place which serves authentic indian cuisine starting from mouth watering punjabi to delicious south indian and not to forget tasty tasty chinese. But its the variety of starters that this place offers and the taste which makes any mouth generate a waterfall.
A nice cozy family restaurant at a prime location of the city with food that will make your stomach heavy as ever without lightening your purse too much.
A go go for the veggie foodies.

Went there on Monday for lunch. Waited 30 mins for a table so was starving by the time we were seated. Most of the group had masala dosas, uttapams and idlis. All very satisfying. Bill for 5 - Rs 600. Good value for the quality.

This is one of those restaurants that practically serve every Indian dish there is.
The flavour of some of the punjabi dishes has been given a gujurati flavour but the most of the menu is quite good. It's just that I don't like Gujurati food too much ;)
The main course aside, there's a good variety of starters like paneer tikka ( the best I've ever had anywhere), aaloo chaat, corn bhel, mini pao bhaji (!!) etc.
The main course also gives a good range of vegetables and rotis.
The only downside to the place is that it feels a bit cramped. Also, on weekends you'll have to wait atleast a half hour for seats (dinner time) as they don't take reservations on weekends.
All in all a good family lunch/dinner place.

Status is a great little place to eat in the Nariman point area. One of the few places not based in a hotel or cinema complex it provides excellent vegetarian food to eat in or takeaway.
If you are in a hurry go to the counter and order a parcel or stand at the high tables and eat there. For a more leisurely meal go inside and sit in the bright and airy main restaurant. Here you can choose from a huge menu of main meals and snacks. prices are fair (especially for Nariman)with few items over 120Rs. Service is quick and the waiters attentive. Portions are substantial, 1 rice will feed 2 and the main courses could easily be shared. The cheese naan is to die for...
If you are arriving over lunchtime be sure to get there before 1pm or the office staff from the surrounding blocks will have taken all the seats and will have you queining outside for a table. You have been warned!
