Almost perfect!

Was one of those days when I walked into Haka alone, exploring food joints with a growling tummy!
The place is spacious and calm. I went through the menu and ordered a veg.spicy dumplings, flat noodles in black soya sauce and veg fritters in manchow gravy. The service was a little slow, and food came after 15 mins. But I was quite impressed with the food. The dumpings were served in a wooden basket and were just perfect, not too spicy and not oily!
The next came the noodle and the veg fritters which were also fantastic. Although this again took 5 mins after the dumplings. I was quite impressed with the way they took Chinese food from the conventional to the more authentic form...
Next I ordered the Chocolate moose for dessert and was completely let down. All the impression the previous food had made went down the drain. It was thick and cold like a frozen pastry. I left it half way thorough and paid the bill. They could have certainly kept everything consistently good.

Good Chinese food at great price

I visited Haka after I read its review in the newspapers and in Time Out mag and also, because it belongs to the same group as Mainland China. Haka's ambience is very modern and simple....nothing fancy or stylish. The menu has limited items, so you don't need to think too much of what to order. The sichuan noodles are excellent and so is the sichuan chicken. Their mocktails are good too. The menu is priced between Rs. 50 to Rs. 150. I enjoyed the food and have gone to Haka many more times.
