Quite Good
Hey girls n guys hi..
Well we have been to Shimmers finally after thinking to visit this place from past 3 months..
Very good ambiance & sitting arrangement..10/10
Music is loud..very nice lasers..but sometimes the song selection is not that gud...lousy songs played at times..8/10
Food is gud and quiet reasonable...9/10
even we tried couple of Mocktails..were gud except for pinnacoleda.....so for this 7/10
but over all agud experience..8.5/10 for those who want to freak out on fridays and saturdays..
for service 10/10...gud service

Pretty neat
Nice ambience & lighting..pretty big & not too crowded..Best part is the happy hours which are only till 9pm now..Pitcher on pitcher free..Good part is they let you order as many as you want..Good music..The DJ agrees to play your request but then he doesn't actually play it at all..Coked out I suppose..In the food,paneer pataka is pretty good..Some ppl in the crowd start dancing after few drinks..Not cool..Why don't ppl understand the concept of a lounge?? Overall a neat place though..Reasonable rates as well..

Happy Hours :)
Shimmer was previously a Bar called Jharna, so when my colleagues initially recommended this place, I was a bit iffy. But, one Friday, off we went to Shimmer, to celebrate the upcoming weekend. For people working in Malad- W, and who want to relax and have a few drinks after work, Shimmer is a good option. Pop tate's was always the first and only option before, but now the endless waiting on weekends puts people off.
Back to Shimmer, as the name suggests, once you enter, you get a chic pub feeling with dim purple and red lighting. There are bouncers that greet you at the door, which gives you the feeling of a bigtime dance club (but its really not one). Now the good news, Shimmer has Happy hours between 6:30 to 9:30; so this means you get a pitcher on pitcher free. Also, they allow you to order as many pitchers as you want within the happy hours. This is really cool if you walk in at 9:25 pm, Pop tate's doesn't bring you the second pitcher until you have finished the first one. They also give free peanuts with the pitcher :). The service is friendly, and quick. If the place is empty, then you will find many guys waiting on you, which can get a little irritating. I haven't really ordered food there, but they give a good quantity of french fries.
Now that we are done with the food (I reviewed the french fries ;) and the drinks, lets talk about the place. With the dim lighting, it gives a little cosy feeling, but the feeling disappears as soon as you sit. The seating is too low; there are sofas stuck to the wall, and opposite large wide tables, you have backless square sofas, that are not comfortable. But, the happy hours make up for this. But once, you are a few glasses down, I suggest u sit on the sofa side ( you need the support)
Shimmer has an inhouse DJ. The Dj has an inclination to play house music. But, he keeps shifting between house and classic rock and alternatives. You can give your requests, and he does play the songs that he has in his collection for you. After 11, you can also dance and groove to the music with your friends in one corner, as long as you not disturbing (or annoying) the others.
Overall, Shimmer is a good experience. Considering the fact that they have happy hours policies that are inclined towards the customers, they should soon develop a loyal customer base. A lot of people from my office have already made friends with the Manager, the DJ, the waiters, etc.
Malad -W needed a place like this.
