surprise attack!

move over the china gardens and the china gates, we stumbled upon a gem in town!.....

we encountered this place in search for a chinese place in the not-so-late hours of the nite (11.30 p.m. on a friday night)....further probing in to the restaurant lead us to our first surprise; decent ambience, a moderately sized place, and almost empty!!.....

we placed the last order at 11.30 pm....which was served to us like the flash of a genie......not even minutes later that we stepped in to the restaurant, were we gulping down gallons of soup......The 3 of us ordered 2 large soups (each soup serves 3); the first one a crab asparagus soup (Rs. 275/-), and for the giant in me, the non-veg sour pepper wanton soup (Rs. 220/-). We picked on the chilly pepper prawn (Rs. 230/-); 8 amazing pieces of prawn sauted to perfection in a spicy sauce. We reveled in the chicken gineger garlic with gravy (Rs. 200/-) and the khao phad gaprao ghoong (a red-spicy thai fried rice interspersed with bits and morsels of chicken priced at Rs. 180/-) which were of huge proportions.

Definitely a steal in lieu of the prices and the portions, definitely a step away from the chinese places prefixed with the word 'china' to impress its authenticity, this one surely needs repetitive probings!

Like Chinese Fod ..try this one!

Silk Route , is one place i know that gives you the most amazingly well cooked chinese fare.Moderately priced the restaurant has a cozy ambience...try the pan fried noodles , the chicken dumpling are yumm and so are the chicken wantons. Main Course you have a variety to choose from , i personally love the egg fried rice with the hunan chicken gravy. The salt and pepper chicken is yumm.. if you like soup then you musy try their sweet corn chicken soup , its awesome. the restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner.
The dessert is limited but their litchi icecream makes up for that... Service can be a little slow at times but otherwise this place will nevr disappoint you.
i always come home with a doggie bag which i invariably wipe out after 2 hours ;)

This one is a must try !
