mom, is that you?
Well, it's not mom, but it comes so damn close! 40 bucks, you get 4 chapatis, one sabji, one daal, one rice, and one cup of indian salad. For 5 bucks extra, get yourself some of the creamiest, masala-est (i have a patent on that word) chaas to gulp down after your meal. The best part which is worth more than money can be is that the food is hygienic, vacuum packed, and safe to eat. Wow.
The menu is a daily rotational one, and if you don't get your butt there by around 1:30ish, there's no guarantees if any hot meals will be left. These guys seem to have big plans, given their organized format, focus on branding (they've got a cute logo), and the importance they give to customer service.
No, it isn't mom, but you might just think twice after eating this stuff.

SastaKhanaAndar - Corriandar!!
So i was late to work this morning, well late so came in the afternoon and was starving, late and had less cash on me. The only place i could think of that would fulfill all these needs at that particular time would be corriander. I got an ENTIRE MEAL for just Rs. 40 - i agree at days their content or choice of menu lags but today was just great food, and for Rs. 40 you can't go wrong. The place has great service and is open like a fast food joint with only pick-up, there is no place to sit and eat, it's kind of on-the-go types. It's right next to the share bazaaar so it makes sense. I had the value meal which consisted of the following.
1 Cup of rice
1 dal
1 palak paneer
1 cup of salad
4 chapatis
and for just Rs. 5 extra you can get really good Buttermilk.
I heard they have free delivery as well. Oh before i forget i think it's a really cool concept that each day's menu is specific and they put out a new menu everyweek so you know what's going to be served on any given day, but downside is you can only have that particular thing that day :) - If you like healthy food, with a home cooked feeling and a little bit of long train journey food vibes and your budget is less than Rs. 50 - then this is the place to eat... i really wish this place was in Bandra!!!!!!!!!! and i wonder how they are in comparison to Calorie Care hmmmmm two-thumbs up Corriander!!!

Excellent VFM+Hygiene+Taste
Corriander is a new concept tiffin service located near the stock exchange building in fort. It is not a restaurant, just a kitchen with a take away counter. Its neat and clean - special attention being paid to quality, packaging and hygiene. The food is served in the form of meal packages- light meals/ value meals/ executive meals. The Value Meal includes, roti, subji, daal and rice and is worth 40 bucks only! They have a different menu every day of the week and the entire weeks menu is available on request. They have accompaniments like soups and health drinks. The health drinks are not really health drinks but stuff like, kairi ka panna, jal jeera, buttermilk etc. Soups cost 15 bucks and the health drinks are a meager 5. I tried the Kairi ka Panna yesterday and masala chaas today. They were both delicious. Guys in my office have been ordering value meals since yesterday and have been pretty satisfied with the food. They offer a tiffin service... so all you deprived souls working in fort and nariman point who are always on the hunt for decent ghar ka khana type of food, here's your chance. Make sure you place your order a day in advance since they get sold out by 1:30.
