Went there on Sept 10, at 8.00 pm for dinner.
Food 2.5/5
In two words - Nothing special. Tried several appetizers and main course options, both veg and non veg. Nothing in particular stood out. Appetizer portions are tiny. You could get tastier Pan Asian food at East or Joss for half the price. Point to note - They have garlic naan on the menu, which seemed a little out of place. We ordered it, but didn't get to taste it, as it was served to us with the dessert, so we sent it back.
Ambiance 3/5
The place looks generic. Pan Asian is a hot current dining option, but at India Jone's, make a handful of changes and this could be Italian Jonh's or American Joe's for that matter. Looks simple and nice. Bright and airy. For a five star hotel restaurant you would expect a lot more from the decor.
Service 1/5
Terrible. I remember going to 5 star hotel restaurants, 20 years ago with my parents, and slow service was the unofficial trademark. I guess they wanted you to sit longer and take in the place or make the place look more full. That was then, this is now. We were a table for 10, the largest group sitting in the restaurant. When we asked for the menu's, they told us that the were short on menu's and they were all in circulation and we'd have to wait a bit. Very amusing. Eventually we were given 3 menu's to share. The restaurant was tremendously short staffed to say the least. Order taking was painfully slow, appetizers took forever to come, main course was even slower. Garlic naan was served to us when we at dessert. Overall very poor service. Also very pushy on the upselling. Must have asked us at least 10 times through the night - what brand of mineral water we preferred.
Overall 2/5
Sorry India Jone's, you need to spruce up or it's time you shipped out and gave us back The Outrigger.
