Ka-ching!

This place is pretty good. I ordered for vegetarian food which was quite good. I loved the ice creams here...one serving of which is enough for two ppl. But yes, Viva Paschim is expensive.

viva viva

A good place with good food except the fact that the owner's photos & too much in the face promotion puts one off.

Pleasantly Surprised!

Went to Viva Paschim with a group of people last night for their Parsi food festival. To be honest I was a bit apprehensive - I was all "how can a Maharashtrian/Goan eatery possibly be expected to do a Parsi meal well"...

As it turns out, I was wrong! Not only was the food really scrumptious - it was actually really authentic. We were a group of 10 people so we got to order the pretty much the whole gamut of the Parsi dishes they had for the taking.

Everything from the Prawn Patia, the Patra ni Machhi, the Tarera Boomla, the Kaju ni Murghi, the Dhansakh to the Lagan nu Custard was par excellence. The only dish that disappoined was the Sas ni Machhi which tasted more like a sweet corn chicken soup than a pomfret dish! In any case, I think 6 out of 7 winning dishes is a very good hit rate - I don't care where you're from.

Aside from the food, the service was also very good. We had attentive, friendly and helpful wait staff. The ambience was not bad either - nothing too fancy schmancy but perfectly respectable and nice.

All in all it was a great meal at a great price. The total tab last night was just north of 5K (including alcohol). Not a bad price if you consider that there were 10 of us who ate and drank till we could eat or drink no more.

I will definitely go back here. Maybe this time to try out their regular menu items. If they pulled off the Parsi fare so well, I have no reason to doubt that their Maharashtrian/Goan food will also be kick ass!
