Ext.202- Unique and Interesting

So we recently went to Ext.202. A friend of mine had recommended the place. We managed to book their exclusive lounge that they have. since we were 15 of us. Although, it was little difficult in the start to find the place, once we arrived I was just completely fascinated with the booths and their entire concept.

As we waited for the rest of our gang to arrive, we were given complimentary mocktail shots. Someone who personally doesnt like alot of areated drinks, I thought the drinks very really nice. If you manage to go there, dont forget to check out their extensive variety of drinks. The starters were great, i was very glad to know that they had Jain food, as two of my friends were jain. I recommend their garlic bread. They have a mix cusine of Mexican, thai and Indian, which managed to make us all happy by the end of the day. As a kid i used to go to Sunny Dhabba on the way to Lonavala, the paratha's always managed to make the trip worthwhile. These guys at Ext. have similar paratha, their specials for the day Aloo and Paneer. The best item i woulld recommend, would be their Cheezy Fries Burger. It manages to convince to tell your gym instructor to take a break for the day..

Verdict: Loved the personalized service. If your looking at good veg food, this is the place. The bill arrived and it came to 100 per person. The place offers much for than value for money with excellent quality and hygiene. If you want to just grab a bite, or come play some games, or have even a nice family dinner, i would recommend it..

Tip: Check on the specials for the day!!

This 'extension' should certainly be closed!!

This place was awful enough to compel me to register on this site and post my views for the benefit of fellow 'foodies' and uninformed consumers!!!
Sometimes owners/ entrepreneurs seem to forget that a restaurant is basically a place where people go to 'eat food and be served well- so no matter how innovative the concept, you got to get your food right!!
Anyway, we walked into this quaint small place tucked in to Mathuradas Mill Compound, Lower Parel, located very close to its far more affluent and upmarket neighbour the 'Blue Frog' wanting to grab a quick healthy bite on a working day. The ambience with the little 'cabins' ((perhaps seating capacity of 20?))in corners like resembling phone booths (a ha hence the name extn 202) seemed cheerful enough.
Our first disappointment was the revelation, that for a place that serves Italian, fast food etc. this turned out to be vegetarian,
The menu is limited, but with interesting, beverage and dessert options. I fell for the 'Greek Frappe' ,especially after the genial host explained how it was not blended but shaken- alas , that was the best thing I had in the entire meal.
The Penne Arabietta , high on tomato and sparse on cheese as well as the other toppings asked for, such as jalapeno, arrived a good twenty minutes before our starter did. The Bruschetta was clealy a piece of work- pieces of plain bread topped with juliennes of tomato and mild flavour of oregano- did not seem like the chef had ever seen or tasted this item before.
For God's sake, then why put it on the menu?
We thought of travelling half way around the world (in a culinary sense)and moving to our very own desi territory aka 'dhabba paratha-- flavour of the day- aloo!!
The paratha came stylishly cut into four quarters, and the curd topped with a delectable mint leaf!!
It would suffice to say about the food that my fellow foodie redeemed herself with garlic bread and mango pickle (thoughtful saving grace!!)
This is clearly a place that might have seemed interesting while it was being conceptualised but fell apart by the time the owners figured out what to put on the table!!!
Go if you must, to check out some interesting looking telephone sets from the yesteryears, which I believe work quite well if you insert the right coin!!
