when i saw burrp.com, i first wanted to write a review for this place. its an amazing place in terms of the taste and quality of food you get here. i have been here at least 6 to 7 times, and each time i check for consistency of taste, and each time they have kept it up. the prawn gassi, the appams, the kingfish, tandoori pomfret, butter garlic prawns, all of it is amazingly good. i have been to gazalee[two branches], apurva, mahesh[two branches], sayiba(?, in bandra] and a couple of other places, but without doubt this place is mindblowing. of course its cramped, but good crowd and decent service.come here when u have time, and relax and get ready to taste some really good food.

My friends and I went to Bharat Excellensea to begin our gastronomic pilgrimage at the shrines of exquisite cuisine before I return home. The restaurant is located near the Ballard estate and a stones throw from Horniman Circle and the RBI building. The waiters and staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very convivial. Definitely not a place for claustrophobics since the ceiling is low and the tables are packed together quite closely. However, the food is delicious and everything else will pale in significance.
We tried the warm, soft appams served with chicken gassi which was a brilliant combination. The gassi hits the spot and the appams were beautifully soft. The chicken pudina tikkas and the fish tikkas with the accompaniment of coriander chutney were perfect too.
I would like to try the tiger prawns next time. The fresh crabs were in a tub by the entrance and there are displays of fresh fish on rice along the staircase up to the restaurant-even though it was a weekend, it was packed to capacity. A testimony to the gorgeous fare on offer indeed!
